back in time to the new york bar Wakefield it was always a winner night out with brian tony williams paul and the rest hey if we could turn back time we would
bloody hell thanks for the memories guys i first heard this song way way back when i was a fresh faced twink in the new york bar in wakefield i'm a wee bit older now but still remember meena and her tambourine
@gameboy133 . well im 3 years younger than you so ill've been a bit twinkier than you back then. meena had just left when i worked there. it was just paul and jo. tambourines and disco tango at the end if the night. lived and died in the NY and rockshots in leeds. very happy times.
dikke schijf, supergoednummer,al denk ik dat ik bijna zo oud ben, vandaag na jaren terug gehoord op de belgische radio mnm op het werk,en de rest vd werkpost heb ik de ganse tijd dat liedje lopen zingen
he just turned 60 last December,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,how time flies eh...........love this song......great dance tune especially in the gay bars...........love his German songs also......very unique voice and stylings............go G.G.
Same here; love the German Schlager even though I do not understand enough German to translate the words in other non English songs. Roland Kaiser, Andrea Berg and others are my favorites also.
Bloody hell! I never thought I'd hear this song again. I remember it from Pussycats in Wakefield, Saturday 18 July 1981 - my 18th birthday bash. Everybody on here seems to remember it from Wakey. Did it ever get released anyplace lse outside West Yorkshire?
What a tune, full of great memories. It's still the most requested song on a Sat night in the Rainbow, Wakefield along with Disco Tango by Tommy Seebach.
Remember this song so well from the New York Bar, Amsterdam Bar, Pussycat and Alexandra bar. Still have a pristine vinyl copy. The tune is still played and still popular in The Rainbow, Wakefield.
small world!! this song started off at the new york bar in wakefield, then moved to the amsterdam showbar in hudds run by my best m8 chris.
when chris opened the copa in hull i was the dj that brought it to hull and was always getting asked for it at the st georges when i dj'd for bobby mandrell.
Here in Hull, UK, I was a DJ in a pub and this song was always requested. It is still very popular, very dancable to, especially after a few beers! lol

Class song. German sound eg Goombay Dance Band. These are his best songs before going "duitstalig".
