  • NEW STATISTICS: 1979-2007 the 1% income increased 275% averaging 11.5million dollars, while middle class and lower classed saw less than 30% of incoming raise, and with today's inflation, due to wall street, our wages can't keep up...

  • ron paul is simply wrong on this. standards of living have done nothing but rise for everyone over the last 30 years. wealth inequality was FAR FAR worse between 1900 and 1920 and it didn't slow down economic growth or progress. liberals always leave out data before 1975 when talking about wealth inequality because it doesn't fit the pattern they need to tout to win elections. this is the land of opportunity, its sad that so many people refuse to acknowledge that

  • @Welsh77 he is right, blacks lost 53%, hispanics 66%, whites16% so many lost their incomes, (i use race because those ate the stats I have)

  • @TheVideo5094 lost that much in what time period? in the last 2 or 3 years maybe because we have an economic crisis, but everyone, all races, and all income levels, is better off than they were in 1980. you'd have to be an idiot to think blacks and hispanics have a lower real standard of living than 20 or 30 years ago. the treasury reported that half the people in the lowest income quintile in 1996 at least doubled their real income in just 10 years. income gap arguments ignore mobility

  • @Welsh77 I'm saying the average joe is worse off than 10 yrs ago

  • @TheVideo5094 well you're simply wrong lol. real income levels are higher today than they were in 2001, that's a fact, for all income levels. the poor in this country enjoy luxuries that the average family didn't in the 1970s. as of 2000, 98% of the people the government considers poor had color TVs, 78% had air conditioning, 72% owned a car, 98% had refrigerators, 73% had microwaves. the poor are getting better off every day, despite the income gap. the growth of the pie outweighs its divison.

  • The reason so much money is spent on the military is because the C.I.A is robbing and terrorizing foreign countries and this loot is distributed among wealthy industrialists. The wealthy inequality will only increase until the government and economy breaks down and people split into self sustaining communities.

  • It is the cantillon effect when you are dealing with income inequality. The rich get the fiat currency and by the time it goes from the central bank down to the people on the fixed income it has devalued by then

  • It is the cantillon effect when you are dealing with income inequality. The rich get the fiat currency and by the time it goes from the central bank down to the people on the fixed income it has devalued by then

  • And "trickle down Laissez Faire economics" is going to end the inequality? That will only make things worse. What a moron this Ron Paul guy is!

  • And Austrian quack economics is the answer to this. 'Sound money' equals mass unemployment. Poor people suffer when there's mass unemployment.

  • I have never heard Ron Paul say anything that was not common sense. This is why he will never be president it is not in the interest of the lobbyist or the good ole' boy network.

He and Newt are true Americans with American Values. Not big money values which fuels campaigns.

America is failing at an exponential rate.

  • hope ron paul runs next time in 2012 he got my vote

  • If the federal government should overpass the just bounds of its authority and make a tyrannical use of its powers, the people, whose creature it is, must appeal to the standard they have formed, and take such measures to redress the injury done to the Constitution as the exigency may suggest and prudence justify.

Alexander Hamilton, Federalist No. 33, January 3, 1788

  • "Any attempt to revive the old concept of freedom would be like trying to turn back the clock.

Yet, one cannot help speculating on the future. When the present generation, well inured to the Welfare State, shall have grown old, will it not also write books on the good old days? And what new ethic -- every generation has its own -- will these books decry? Maybe it will be the ethic of the totalitarian state. Who knows?"

-The Peddler as Hero- by Frank Chodorov, 1962.

  • The constitution was designed to endure terrible times like this. It is, in its basic form, adaptable. Why on earth would we try to turn back the clock when we have such an amazing government? Bring back slavery and the 2/3 compromises? HA! America has always gotten what it wants. When that becomes impossible, that changes.

  • The military also has some Black ops funds that come from the war on drugs which no one really ever talks about

  • Agreed. Just look at Afghanistan and the incredible amount of opium/heroin coming out of that country...

  • No nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare.

    — James Madison

It's a damn fact that our, that is America's, military expenditure now accounts for 48% of the money spent on the military worldwide. Any man with a damn brain in his head can see that having a big-ass military serves at least 2 purposes: provide security and maintain power. Wouldn't alleviating poverty and promoting economic development do the same thing?

  • word.

  • We don't spend enough on defense is what this media hack says. Are you kidding me? Ron Paul sets him straight but do you think he really understood the difference between defense of our country and the imperialist spending of our military. These media hacks don't have a clue do they that most of our military spending is on policing the world not defending our country. I can't stand idiots like this that just ignore Dr. Paul response like it was outrageous.

  • In 2000, the USA spent $385 billion on defense. In 2008, the USA spent $643 billion on defense.

  • Agreed. Sad but true, Kudlow is one of the brighter os the media hacks (kind of like being the world's tallest midget I guess.)
