the reason why beagles tend to look a little on the hefty side is bc their owners love them so much and give them a lot of treats <3 thats just how easily beagles can steal ur heart with just one look

The beagles are one of the breeds that get fat eaasier, i would reccomend you not to give a treat to your dog every time he does 1 trick but giving it when he performs 3 or 4 tricks, otherwise your beagle will be fat. Nice dog ;)

@jcr5690 I agree! He gets dog kibbles for treats now and is much thinner now. I think some of the neighbor dogs made fun of his big thighs. Who knew Beagles were self conscious about their weight?

I used to have a French Spaniol who I train to shake and and do high fives, etc. but right when I was about to teach her to dance, roll over, play dead, etc. she snuck into my room, ate some crab food, and became too dehydrated (near the end she wouldn't drink her water because she was so weak), so my dad and I rushed her to the nearest vet that was open at the time, but it was too far and she didn't make it.

Now my new dog, a beagle, is too lazy to learn all these tricks.

He has a new one now. We taught him to shake his head and make his ears flap!

That is a cute rolly polly beagle! Not obese but not exactly an agility champion if you have my drift... He is cute!!! Good job on the training!!!

he's got some chubs but he's not obese. beagles do tend to get fat easier than other dogs. my beagle is very slim but he'll probably grow a gut as he gets older.
