Try and think about it that holden have gone to the yanks to get the power that they have got now. ford still provied an design parts for chev and those parts are used to power holdens. And the chassis is desinged and provided by the brits. just like the astra = vauxhall and just like the original commodore Yes it was developed in europe and sold to holden /GM at the time . I think I like the HRT 427 they were gonna bring out better. Now that Walkinshaw performance have brought out their 600 and 800hp R8's this W427 has to rely on the other extras you get with it, along with its limited production run of course. White one occasionally drives around my area.

I like it, but I just don't believe it's special enough to warrant the price tag and its collector status.

first of all, the 300c shouldnt be compared to the VE holden(forget about the 427, any VE V8). the charger is a direct competitor with the VE G8 in the states, and we already know the G8 absolutely blows the tits off the charger in the corners, and is extremely close in the straight line. there is no reason to buy a chrysler performance sedan unless for the style and comfort which ofcourse is all opinionated. not only does the VE offer these but has the handling the dodge lacks.

How come? They should have used the 6.2L supercharged LS9 from the 'Vette ZR1. It makes 462kW in the 'Vette, so even if they down-tuned it to cope with the heat or for whatever marketing reasons, it'd still make heaps more power than this.

There would have been less development work with the LS9 too, as HSV will have to do crash testing for the 7L as it is a unique engine. More power, less development money would make business sense to me.

No idea... the FG XRT's run a 5.1, the F6 is supposedly hidden times, but they're suggesting sub 4's. This car costs so much more than the FPV and HSV range because its at CSV spec, insane engine with high performance and an interior you can guarantee blow jobs in. That and the fact that walkinshaw is tagged left right and centre over the vehicle making it a collector's toy!

This car's pretty cool, but I have the horn for XR6T and F6 Typhoon. They deliberately restrict the power output to be (marginally) below the power of the V8 for marketing reasons (cause dumbass bogans can't accept what is just a good engine, it HAS to be a V8), but the rule of thumb is an unworked turbo engine is equivalent to a NA engine 1.5 times its capacity. Plus it's lower weight for better acceleration and handling. Plus spend the money you save on upgrades, and it'll be even faster.

Ummm, just so everybody knows. The 0-100km/h time was around 4.7 seconds when HSV were still testing it. They've currently got the time to a consistent 4.4 seconds. Which is fucking amazing for an 1800+kg 4-door sedan. Leaves the M5 for dead. And the new FG F6 gets to 100km/h in 5.1 seconds, so what are these people on about. It destroys the F6. The W427 has a much better power curve than the LS2 and LS3 (and they were brilliant), so it'd have power everywhere. And the F6 breaks all the time.

umm the F6 HAS been limited its not running the maximum boost it can handle. The previous F6 was only running 9psi and still doing low 13s 1/4miles the XR6ts were running even less (5-6psi). The Barra turbo motor has MASSIVE potential u spend 3-4 grand on an XR6t and you have yourself an 11sec daily driven MONSTER without having to pay $150,000. im not saying this 7litre isnt tuff and wont be fast im just saying the money they are charging for it is ridiculous no holden or ford is worth that.

You'll hit well over 500KW without a fucking supercharger. Just a properly re-mapped ECU and you'll get around 500KW out of a 7.0Litre engine. I'd personally rather smack on a 12-15" Turbo with Turbo manifold, with quite a large amount of boost. Then see an F6 try to keep up with it. :D

If HSV claims 4.98 seconds for the 307, then imagine what an extra 63kW can do plus extra capacity and all its updated technonlogy which includes the transmission, then youve got yourself one hell of a mother.

The F6 does 13.3 1/4mile times. So it should keep up. But the F6 is only $77,000 the HSV is $150,000ish. Spend the difference on the F6 and sub 9's easy lol.

For me, the F6 / XR6 Turbo is FAR FAR better value for money. And keep up with relevance to price.
