After watching a Mister Roger's Neighborhood episode with my 18 month old son this morning featuring a very cute Alexander as a toddler, I stumbled on this fabulous candid family recording. It's lovely to hear their voices and to see Fred's smiling face...Hope Alexander and is doing wonderful things. Thanks for the post!!
Me and my family were vacationing on Nantucket Island and one afternoon tried to hitch a ride back into town from the beach. A cute blue duster pulled up and picked us all up. We were all in shock for what seemed ages until one of us piped up, "you're Mr. Rogers aren't you?" "Yes I am!", he replied. What a thrill. I will never forget being in his company for that brief time. Mr. Rogers continues to be an inspiration in my life, thanks for posting some very rare and personal memories!
I met Mr. Rogers once and experienced first hand his tremendous sense of humor. A friend of his told me that he once called Mr. Rogers, who could barely speak on the phone because he was still convulsing with laughter after having seen Eddie Murphy's SNL parody.
