@patolennon...A trivial sounding comment but nevertheless gigantic in it's implications...as for me,the physical sufferings of my dwindling existence on this Earth were completely anaesthsetised on hearing this incomparably indescribable musical poetry.
I have nothing against Paco, but when somebody compares him to Vicente, it just sounds lame. Anybody with ears and heart realizes the gigantic skill difference bertween these two. Paco is so so left behind... while he plays his abstract and complicated, asymetric forms so everyone gets bored after several minutes of listening, Vicente captures the heart immediately and never fails to entertain and satisfy. I don't quite comprehend what makes people compare Paco to Vicente..
Vicente learned from Sanlucar and studied with him for longer yrs. Collaboration with Paco is a minor one. But I'm not against Paco at all, I just don't see his work as something comparable with Vicente's. Paco's compositions are hardly even close to the harmony Vicente produces. I liked PDL when he played with Camarón, but since he started experimenting with McLaughlin, the spell just broke.. PDL is considered godfather in the business & all MUST adore him.... Just tired of it. :)
@CassiusChrysanthe The gigantic skill difference between this two is called "Reverb"... This device allows to capture the heart immediately, that's why you prefer Vicente. Anybody who plays guitar realises that Vicente is a wonderful guitarist but Paco is far far far beyond
@mitsuruguifof Maybe technically, but on music you can like one or another, there's not a best. Also, flamenco is not the same as Paco. Paco is great Technically but there's a better one there. Manuel Granados
@CassiusChrysanthe People is used ti think that Flamenco=Paco and that's not true. There's parts of flamenco (palos: granaina, soleá, buleria...) that Paco don't play. There's a lot of them. The true flamenco is more like a mixture from Paco's and classic guitar. When I find the name that Im missing now i'll post it
