@mksutra I see you live in a very literal world. The physical existence of the scroll - of the particular Gohonzon you refer to, and that you covet so greatly, is not THE Gohonzon Nichiren refers to. Nichiren is implying that those who see only the physical manifestation (a piece of paper) as the True Buddha, are in hell. Nichiren inscribed many Gohonzon - are they all false, save for the one in your posession? I fear you are confusing material posession with something that is inate within all.

Nichiren's desire was Kosen-Rufu, Soka Gakkai was the only organization to fullfill that wish. So unlike Nichiren Shoshu that only stud still hundreads of years, Gakkai lift the true heart of Nichiren.

He never intended that any Gohonzon should give one person or group exclusive powers or authority over others. Nor did he teach anywhere in his writings that people must physically pray before a specific Gohonzon, such as the Dai-Gohonzon, in addition to the one enshrined in their homes, to achieve benefit.

There are people in both organizations that are truly flawed. Call me a liar and I will call you a fool. What is important is only the mystic law. The idea of a group is only to help Nichirens followers with faith, practice, and study. However you dont really need either group to do that. Moreover, Nichiren Daishonon did not have a club or even gohonzon until later in his life. He only had the four words that everyone knows.

Slander of any kind is a bad cause. Dont do it.

80rachael: to support what you are saying - President Ikeda has the support of the common people, unlike Nikken Abe who, until he stepped down, wielded power and fear over the common people. President Ikeda cares about the common people while Nikken Abe does not! Also, the Nichikan Gohonzon works just fine - I have one and it is great. Finally, the above video is so trashy, "definitelyincur" is not a word that I know of in teh English language - you cannot even attack the Soka Gakkai well!

The Gakkai had no choice but use the Nichikan Gohonzon, which was the Gohonzon the Gakkai used for many years in previous time.

Ya know, Sinclair, It is quite interesting that someone who just received Kankai said he started to practice again last year, BUT with SGI.he went to SGI's meeting and said they were CRAZY..what they were doing no longer made sense...he stopped going to SGI..fortune, he met an old friend who took him to the NSTemple...his words, "I felt as though I had come home again! The Daishonin's Buddhism is alive here...not in SGI!"
