I'm not sure about it being mostly because of Triple J or that they represent the underground music of Aus. They are quite a mainstream radio and plug the bands they plug (sometimes over plugged...) but there is a whole sector of the music industry, producing amazing material but still struggling to get known because they haven't been one of the 'chosen ones' for Triple J. Talking underground, I'd try RTR fm, for Perth at least.
