Delta and Final were both amazing, but for different reasons. I actually am still more of a fan of the old 1-3 batch.

Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to play through Delta. I had to return the copy of Delta I got to Gamestop because the game would freeze when trying to load the third stage.

R-Type Final is slow, atmospheric, visually and aurally stunning, and there are a large number of ships and weapons to unlock. The game does suffer from massive slowdown issues, but it is ignorable because the game is so intriguing.

immediate thing.. i played start of final.. very snazzy looking backgrounds and 3D effects. yet to see if the gameplay will be as good as delta though.. which is AMAZING! (as you can tell. i am an r type delta fanboy).

I can't really compare the games, as I haven't played much of Delta, and to be honest I'm not a huge fan of the R-Type style. From what I've heard, Delta is the best R-Type game. While R-Type Final looks really cool, you shouldn't expect it to hold up to Delta in terms of actual gameplay.

R-Type Final has a lot of replayability because of many unlocks, multiple versions of stages, and many variations of weapons to choose from.

@Draginvry2 actually i am not a fan or r type style games either! that is scrolling shooters.. but even though i am not a fan delta is so good that even if you are not a fan you might still love it.

yeah anyway im gonna get to this game when i finish doom.

The only reason i bought delta originally i sjust because i found it cheap so thought i would give it a go. didnt think i would love it as i do though.

Why is it that every time they kill the main core it comes back? I think this game is called Final not because it’s the ending of R-Type but because the operation was called Final Dance. It means that who ever takes the mission is not coming back. The solder using the R-Type new what was going to happen to him.

thi was really decent, its the only R-type I owned as Ps1 was my console and i own them all so far, this was an incredibly decent shmup, tons of variety, i had trouble finishing without great effort so i havent completed it in ages, thanks for the video! :)
