  • Thank you very much. Emptiness is one of the really central topics in Buddhism, and also one of the really hard nuts to crack in my opinion. This video definitely adds to my personal understanding of this.

  • but isn't your negative thinking just as empty as your suffering? and so isn't the cause of your negative thinking also empty because it too has a cause(s)? and so and so on...

    i just cant wrap my head around emptiness...

  • To sort out your question, you first need to differentiate between Absolute Truth and Relative Truth. From the perspective of relative truth, the two truths are different. So, emptiness (absolute truth) is not thinking - whether it be positive or negative - thinking is relative truth. From the perspective of absolute truth - beyond all extremes - you cannot correctly assert that the two truths are different. But if you mix these two statements together, you will be lost. Cheers
