Excuse me sir but i have a question. I'm gettin lot of latency from UX2 when i use my guitar plugged in my amp Roland Cube 20. I used to be an Audiophile 192 user and i got no latency problems. The weird thing is there's no latency when i use my guitar with Pod Farm or Guitar Rig(but i can't use that softwares with my amp cause it's gettin too noisy). Tried everything, changed the buffer size, but nothing different. Please help me, i'm gettin crazy.
the audio how do i not just restrict my computer to the ux2 cause when im using the ux2 i cant listen to the audio on the internet or my computer just the programs.
Would you say this is the best device in this category? or are there others youd recomend?, im looking for something like this, and just want to know what the other options are.
I have a huge problem... I bought this interface a long time ago, and I moved out of the country. I took it with me when I left but I seem to have forgotten the CDs that came with it.. and I bought a new computer.. and since I didn't have the cds I downloaded the line 6 monkey thing from the internet but it says that to download the driver for my UX2 I have to register my product. But when I try to register it on their website it says error? Any clues as to what I'm doing wrong?
thanks for the swift answer, it works now :), also now when i got it running with sound i've got an error that occurs frequently, its a sound error, its hard to describe, its like an echo that keeps coming, something like an echo or wah, and it shouldn't be there, and it's not an effect because the sound error keeps coming with any amp or tone, would be great if anyone knows the problem.
I just got my UX2. I have an Apple MacBook Pro. I'm not getting sound out of anywhere but headphones. I've downloaded drivers, PodFarm 2, all the updates, messed with the midi, etc. I've also plugged the UX2 into every jack on my amplifier. I've also tried plugging into every jack in the UX2. Nothing.
@WielderOfTheSteel I'm not sure. If your line out on the UX2 is going straight to your amp you should have sound. are the yellow lights on the level meters on or are you getting blinking red light? The blinking lights indicate its your connection to the computer somehow. Make sure your UX2 is connected to the computer before you start POD Farm.
@ruppmusic are you saying you need an amp to use the line 6 pod studio? if so how? there isn't an amp chord i have ever found that fits into single slot in the ux1 pod studio.
@Fluffypopcicle Run it to an amp, through a mixer, etc. I have the UX2, but the UX1 should still have 2 1/4" analog outs for right and left. Use one of those to connect into your amp.
i just got my ux2 today, and i have installed all software, if i head into pod farm i can see readings on my equalizer while playing, but there is no sound, i got my amplifier connected with my computer, do i have to have the speakers directly connected to the ux2 or is it just an interphace to adjust?
@ZekelWins I have intermittent problems like this. Sometimes re-starting my computer helps. Make sure you connect the POD to the computer and wait for the yellow lights come on the level display before you start the POD Farm software.
@ZekelWins Hey, I have this exact same problem, just installed and updated my UX 2 and I can see that I am receiving a signal through the orange meters, but no sound is coming out of my speakers or headphones. Did you manage to resolve the issue?
i have windows 7... and when i installed the software, i plugged in my guitar .. and there is just no sound comming out of the speakers. what do i do? answer fast!
@ivncdo0809 The wah is a built in effect, so you will get that. Whether or not you want to use an amp is up to you. You still need to feed the audio outputs somewhere. You can patch back into the computer with a regular guitar cable (most likely you will need a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter). Otherwise you patch into your amp or mixer.
@credor2 The usb cable is just to interface the unit to the computer. You'll need to feed the audio output (s) back to the computers audio in or to an external amp, mixer, etc.
Thank you for posting this. I just got a UX2 for Xmas. I haven't had the chance to mess with it yet, but thank you. I'm sure you saved me a lot of time that I'd be wasting.
im having some trouble with mine if you can help me it would be greatly appreciated my problem is im using the ASIO4All driver and i can't hear anything
your video seems to be VERY informal and helpful. I did not install it yte but I have some time and I was hoping that someone like yourself made a video like this. So thanks for going through the troouble. I'll let you know how it went
Ok. I loaded the installation cd for the POD and that went well, so that isnt the issue here. When i plugged my guitar in and started to play i could only get sound through my headphones, i didnt get any sound through my computer speakers. Do i need to hook-up speakers or something? I hope im just making a stupid mistake. Hopefully you can help me out. thanks.
One method is just to use the pod farm and select the amount of wet vs. dry through that. I think each setting gives you the ability to adjust your mix.
Riff works allows you to create drum loops that you play over. In essence you create sections of songs with it. It's fun, but I really have not gotten the whole program figured out yet.
Yes the POD Farm software is included. There are other expansion packs available for an extra cost that give you more sounds, but the ones included will give you plenty to work with to start.
all this about sound cards confused me, why do you need a sound car when the conexion is USB and it has monitor outs on the interface, can't you just plug the speakers to the UX2?
Ifyou are sending the signal back into your computer to monitor the sound or to record and later playback through your computer then you will need a sound card.
If you are using it only for the effects and sending the sound somewhere else like an external amp or recorder then I wouldn't think you need the sound card.
Yes you will need a sound card. Most computers already have a sound card in them. If you can listen to music now through your computer then you have one. Of course you can always get a better one.
The only reason I can think of to use it for drums is to record to your computer. If that's the case then I suppose you could mic the drums and use this.
If you have a bunch of mics, then you would be best to use a mixer before this unit paying attention to all the levels of the individually mic'd drums. One you are recorded, you won;t be able to bump up the levels of the individually mic'd drums.
Don't think it's something for me though, even if I've been thinking of buying one. I use M-Audio Ozone, Tracktion 2, T-Rack EQ Etc. from Mackie, and there's no hasle in installing/updating or even record with the software. I use a Variax 500 guitar, which is great, to the tunes, and Shure SM58 mic to the voice. I think line six should stick to their soundpods, and let others, that know what they're doing, build the external soundcards. All the props ain't worth the price even if it's cheap. :o(
Can anyone tell me why when I record on Ableton Live 7 and I play what I recorded, why is the sound coming on the (and of the 2nd measure)? I'll wait for the 4 metronome beats and come in on the first beat of the next measure. But when I go back and play it, the sound will not come on the downbeat of the 2nd measure, it'll come on the (and) of the down beat.
me and my friends are starting a band, we need something to record with, we have a limited amount of money, if i buy this will we need to buy special instruments to use this(line 6 guitars), and will this work with a keyboard and drums?
You don't need a special guitar. Many keyboards will too if it has an instrument level output.
If you want to record one instrument at a time, then you could use just this. There are only 2 mic inputs which is not enough for a good drum sound, but it will work.
Really though, it does not sound like this is what you want. You need a mixer of some sort and will have to mic the drums.
You can take the output from a mixer and send it to this to change your sound and then run a signal back into your computer or other recording device.
um...just purchased this product and need to know how to get the sound to come out my pc speakers? The headphones give me a headache after a while and I don't feel like dragging my amp in the room.
In order to play back through your PC speakers you'll need to run a cord from the audio output on the POD Studio back into your computer.
If your computer does not have a line input use the microphone input. Most computers have an 1/8" microphone input, so you will need an adapter if that is the case.
very helpful video. novice users keep in mind that you FIRST install device drivers AND THEN plug-in your device for the first time, unless your user manual tells you the opposite. that will save you a lot of time and headaches.
This video helped me with installing but can you make a shorter video which is as clear as this one. And better quality please. Thank you.

Itsoeasyafterall 2 years ago
The UX2 still needs to be connected to your computer with the software on. If you are doing that then it should work.
If you get sound through your line out (going to your amp for example), but not through your headphones, then I would contact Line 6.

Just to confirm, you still have to have a computer connected to the UX2 in order for it to work.

all this about sound cards confused me, why do you need a sound car when the conexion is USB and it has monitor outs on the interface, can't you just plug the speakers to the UX2?
MaghoxFr 2 years ago
The UX2 is an interface between the guitar and the computer. All the sound effects are part of the POD Farm software.
To hear any type of music through your computer you need a sound card. If you listen to music now on your computer then you already have a sound card.
Besides the USB connection, you need to connect a cord back to the computer OR to an external amp.
You can't just hook speakers directly to the UX2, but you can connect an amplifier to it if you want to listen to it that way.

Powderfinger07 2 years ago
You need to purchase expansion packs to get those amps and effects that are not available.
The UX2 comes with a free FX Junkie expansion pack, so make sure you get that if you have the UX2.
Also, the expansion packs go on sale all the time. So watch your emails, they will let you know when they are having sales.

Powderfinger07 2 years ago
In order to play back through your PC speakers you'll need to run a cord from the audio output on the POD Studio back into your computer.
If your computer does not have a line input use the microphone input. Most computers have an 1/8" microphone input, so you will need an adapter if that is the case.

The real difference is in the software. The POD studio (black face) comes with the POD Farm software which is really cool.

I'll be posting a new video soon showing the POD Farm software. Please look for it.

very helpful video. novice users keep in mind that you FIRST install device drivers AND THEN plug-in your device for the first time, unless your user manual tells you the opposite. that will save you a lot of time and headaches.
