  • I have been putting this off for months because I watched a video of how to do this that involved taking apart the entire case, removing the keyboard, removing the motherboard, etc... this video OWNS...

  • bad i cant upgrate the netboock video card like this ...pfff

  • Clearly he doesn't mind about static charges then, touching the gold tips on the RAM can cause serious problems to it, and I would be removed the battery too and touched a part of the frame just to earth myself to it!

  • Is 2 gb the maximum or can it handle 4?

  • @FreakinJose According to Wikipedia it maxes at 2GB

  • Did you have any further problems by removing the memory without first removing the battery?

  • haha go Team jacob

  • Excellent thank you for sharing this never realized how easy it is!

  • @marios93g it should run smoother, when I upgraded my Dell mini 10v 1018 netbook from 1gb to 2gb I noticed a big difference, and everything runs more smoothly.

  • is there 3 or 4 gig for aspire on

  • Do you have to do anything to the software

  • hey alphawolf2xxx i have a question for the ram is it PNY 2GB PC-5300 DDR2 Laptop Memory or

    PNY 2GB PC-6400 DDR2 Desktop Memory

i saw it at bestbuy.ca i didnt know wich one so yeah please respond quickly thanks bye

  • @kanujan123

I successfully upgraded from the current 1GB to 2 GB PC2-6400 CL5 200-Pin SODIMM (Kingston). This in effect means that we can go higher than just 667MHz. This mem plate is 800 MHz and touch wood, all seems to be working fine. Should I rather go back to 667 MHz, or could others upgrade same in future? Please let me know if there is any danger as I dearly love this little book and do not want to damage it!

  • Have you had any problems with the 800MHz RAM?

According to the acer website it only accepts 667, but where I live I can only get 800MHz RAM......

    Thanks

  • @slippyjim - No probs whatsoever - but I could not detect any difference in speed or performance either. I must have done something wrong somewhere.

  • Hey man cool video. I honestly thought it would be hard to upgrade the Ram on the Acer Aspire One D250. I also have the same netbook and have pushed it to the limits. I have downloaded about 60 avi, movies already and and a few games such as Halo, Tekken and the GTA Series. All of which work pretty good. Can you send me the exact name of the new ram card you installed. And what are the good things upgrading the ram will do? Thanks bro. I subscribed if that helps lol.

  • the name of the RAM is PNY DDR2 you can get it at best buy. the good things about upgrading the ram to 2GB is that open the applications faster , photo editing is good too the internet is faster too. I just installed a external dvd burner LG lightscribe brand and it works great the 2gb helps a lot. thank you for your comment
