We do actualy.French and English are our national languages.They have equal participation in the federal government,the Parliament and Senate.Even Queen Elizabeth is bilingual.Other languages are also recognized and have some importance according to the region in which they are spoken.For instance Inuit is well spoken in Northern Canada and thus it has official recognition in Nunavut,along with English.

The Indians had no concept of a country or a state its just a part of an evolving more advanced society of Europeans creating what would become the US. Wars were fought and a lot of lives lost in the making of this country and it is rightfully America as we know it today, end of story.
