they cant use family membres dna is taken from both sides of the family and since this event happened over 200 years ago at least 5-6 generation would have been born having his this certain child have on 1/7th of the actuall dna which would not be enough to prove anything
@ConanClosedCase 200? 2011-1888=200? rather 123 years.. but ok let that be forgiven.. it doesn't matter how long it has been.. as long as DNA is preserved in the sample it CAN be tested.. mithochondrial DNA to be exact.. so your wrong..
@TheNWOtruth You got that right-mitochondrial DNA is passed unchanged down the maternal line. So ConanClosed Case you need to do some research before making statements that have no sciencific basis.
why would she extract the dna? She doesn't have anything to compare it with? That would only be actually something useful, if she could extract DNA out of bones... And I'm not sure that this is possible... Does anyone know? Thanks for uploading that documentary.

@Maybeeee it can be extracted from bone marrow actually.. wether it can be used or not is up to the decay of the marrow..
