Great video! It's good to know there are so many lovely ladies out there who love themselves and others so much! Keep it going, together we will all overrule the modern view of what a woman is supposed to look and act like! No more size 2 is right. All women are beautiful and strong!
I completly disagree with pole-dancing, the act in itself is for strippers and perverted women. To show off themselves. They should cut all pole-dancing classes, they are not needed. There are other ways for women to feel good about themselves, like joining a team, doing something worth acoomplishment, not spinning around a metal, sex device. They should be out of business.
@Britrules10000 As a pole dance instructor, I think people like you are the ones who are sadly mistaken about what a real woman is. A real woman is confident and beautiful. A real woman holds her head up high no matter what people say or do. You only empower us to continue doing what we do. You obviously have never taken seen a class. Who are you to judge what you have knowledge of? Closed minds should come with closed mouths! I suggest learning about it before you dislike it. Good luck to you!
@mommysheena84The point of Youtube is to watch and comment, so I stated my opinion. I do not deny that a woman should be beautiful (I am one after all), but to swing around on a metal pole is got to be one of the most perverted practices in soceity. To allow woman to act as strippers is not that far from the real thing. And besides, why would I take a class? Would that change how I feel about the practice? No. And I'm not even going to comment on your closed mouths comment, which is quite sexist
@Britrules10000 I never said you shouldn't comment, so therefore I can comment as well. Ignorance must be bliss! Too funny you think my closed minds comment is sexist! Closed minds means people who are not open to new experiences should keep their mouths shut. If you have no knowledge of it, then don't discuss it! Men and women both can be closed minded. You can say what you want but your life must truly be lacking of new experiences. Why don't you do some research before commenting next time.=)
@mommysheena84 You say what you will, but this 'filth' will not touch me or if I ever have children. I hope your life be void of perversion, because what truely comes down to it is from love.. Remember that. Stripping, pole dancing, it's all the same. Same act, even though the goals are believed to be different. I hope that someday you realized that not all women want to be related to degraded 'hobbies'. Good luck and may we agree to disagree. Good day to you, and may we never meet. ♥
@iremythpurr nah, you just have a perverted view of sex. Also, it's not in your place to speak on behalf of others as they do not hold the same opinion as you do about burlesque and pole dancing. If it helps women feel better about their bodies (and it does), and not loathe their own sexuality, or what's the word, horniness, then it should be good. It's a simple indication of a healthy, natural mind.
I have a perverted view of sex yet you think its appropriate to attack women based on their physical attractiveness to you.
I don't really give a fuck what you think about my view of sexuality. I happen to not think that playing games about gender roles is liberating or interesting or worth the time of people SERIOUS about ending gender based oppression.
@iremythpurr 1 Of course it is not "appropriate to attack women based on their physical attractiveness (to me)"; but sweetheart, you are no way better! I've seen some of your videos where you diss women who fall in with the heterosexual standard of beauty. You disparage this type of women and say they objectify themselves. Are you sure??? (more)
@TheGreenSapphire8 2 It is laughable, too, that you should say you are SERIOUS about ending gender oppression when you are up to your neck in denigrating men and women who lean towards sex positivism. You ought to work on your double standards, love.
"If it helps women feel better about their bodies (and it does), and not loathe their own sexuality, or what's the word, horniness, then it should be good."
Does that opinion hold up in regards to plastic surgery? After all, if someone has a poor body image, why not plastic surgery? Is that a valid "treatment?"
@TheConduitforSale Don't people seeking to alter their appearance get psychological therapy prior to the surgery? In any case, I've nothing against plastic surgery. Are people seeking these services to help them feel better about themselves good or bad? Who is to judge, really? They got the money; the technology is there, I say - go!! Personally though, I find people who are comfortable in their own skin are the the least to involve themselves in gender politics.
It should be clear that simply because one does not find Burlesque objectifying, doesn't mean Burlesque is therefore NOT objectification and does not stem from patriarchy. Keep in mind, cumulative actions have an affect on gender roles. I am quite certain people from Miss America/Universe also find their "work" liberating. It is the language of our age; "liberation," "individual freedom," and "personal responsibility." These are empty words and slogans, devoid of any meaning.
Pretty awesome video. I have many plus size women approach me to tell me they feel empowered after shows too. Also I think the reason why pole dancers are considered sleazy is that pole dancing happens in regular strip clubs every day. We are far enough removed from when Burlesque started that it doesn't have the same connotation anymore. Plus there's money tied to stripping. Burlesque dancers spend more on costumes than they make and many perform for free. Strippers do it for money.
"not doing it for the money or for men" BUUUUUULL SHIT

I think you're confusing me with someone else. I haven't "dissed" anyone's appearance.
Apart from that, yeah not thinking about how you present yourself to the world critically is kind of dumb....
