I wish the democratic nations would build the web tools to empower local communities of cell phone users to form strong local democracies by providing robust banking and commerce tools, and giving them the means to focus and concentrate their insight and political capital. No amount of diplomacy can have the impact of a well designed tool that allows ordinary folks in rural areas of poor nations to create honest and useful local infrastructure. It's the opportunity of a thousand lifetimes.
