  • For camo

  • No that saw will be good because if you need to cut down some twigs or branches it will be usefull

  • I love my MUT i use it all the time.

  • How do you like your surge?

  • @flanjt13x3

    I like these MUTs better

  • Considering this knife is meant for gun care and modification, I think the knife would be better served with a file instead of the saw.

  • @thestout77

    I agree 100%

  • @GunWebsites I wonder if I could request that Leatherman fit one of their files onto one. I'm sure a file from one of their other multitools would fit on it.

  • Great review. To skate96production. He mentioned around $145.00

  • i WHANT IT! how much cost?

  • I have one of these at work. Use it for everything... M16's, M2HB's, M240B's... everything! I love this tool!!

  • shouldn't this be on GearBuyersGuide???

  • @Cheehooo24

    it is on both

  • hate the half phillips bit. whats up with that? its kinda bulky. dont like where the cord cutter blade is. if you honk down on the pliers from the far edges on the plier handles the bottom of my thumb skin can go into the "v" part of the blade. not good! also the handle on the hammer side of the plier on mine closes too hard.oiled it up but needs soooo much pressure you pinch your hand just trying to close. mine was also missing the t-15 bit. NOT GOOD QUALITY CONTROL mine is going back!

  • I really like how the bits fit inside it. I'd rather have 2-3 always-use bits built in like that than carry a whole separate bit-kit, even if it's relatively light, with a 100 sizes I never use. Great review, cheers.

  • @ascetic43

have you seen the leatherman 24 bit set? it fits in a sheath easily compared to the older styles

  • @GunWebsites I haven't. I'll check it out. I never carried the old one bc of it's weight, a smaller one would be nice. Thanks, cheers.

  • Brilliant!!

  • @CabelasOutdoor4x4 indeed lol

  • You wasted 2 plus minutes saying nothing of value. Less talk more facts please.

  • you talk too much dude...

  • Where is the tool to fix the AK, oh wait...never mind.

  • @weiss27md

    it has a hammer

  • @GunWebsites lol

  • @weiss27md Yeah, right, but U can do field stripping only. To make full disassembling - there is piece of work. Especially to box it back.

  • @weiss27md you mean a rock, a stick, shoe lace, and motor oil?

  • @JustBunkerdYou

I like it more all the time. the tools on it are useful for lots more than just rifles

  • Where did you get that otis kit?

  • That's a neat cleaning kit

  • i thought it was for the m15 correct me if im wrong

  • i just got one today its really badass

  • is it just me or did anyone else mistake what it looked like in the thumbnail to be some kinda crazy assault riflle

  • I'd like to buy this multi-tool but im not sure i dont do any shooting so will it be usefull for me ?

  • @1Mr2cool4u

I don't only use mine for rifles.. very useful

  • Little pricey, but I like it.

  • pause the video at 01:24 as hes turning it.... was that a picture of a dildo? man i wanna buy that for my GF

  • @yahoopig

it cost the same as any high end multi tool

  • @yahoopig Now thats funny..........lol

  • I gave up after two minutes and you still hadn't opened the tool yet. Lost my sub.

  • @FatDaddy4Fun ever heard of fast forward

  • sweet tool but at the price its a big ol waste of money

  • @goodinsrt8

I don't agree, mine works great, has a good set of tools and I carry it daily with no issues

it cost the same as any high end multi tool

  • @GunWebsites yea and those high end multi tools are a waste of money too. I didnt say anything against the quality, its just not worth $100+.

  • @goodinsrt8

I'm happy to pay for US quality.. china prices are low for a reason

  • @GunWebsites who said anything about china prices? a $40 gerber works just as good as the MUT for over $60 less. Don't get me wrong, if the price ever drops or I can find a steal on one, i will pick one up.

  • @GunWebsites dude it really is a great tool but is not worth $100 "it really isnt" and this is not about I buy US quality or any of that shit this is something that shouldnt cost more than $50 period... leatherman needs to get that!!!! until they do i will be here, watching... BTW nobody is blaming you for paying what you pay for it but who knows maybe they pay you to make this review

  • @goodinsrt8 dont know why SO! many people love Leatherman, and then we got the fuck heads as you which hate it...............! OMFG and WTF ? dont get it ;)

  • perfection

  • if i have an ar or im in military this is the best multitool that i can get.i gotta question the carabiner also serves as a bottle opener? the folding knife series of leatherman have this type of carabiner and u can open bottle with them(pretty cool:D) And very detailed nice review.

    take care.....

  • Very good review. Thanks for sharing.

  • Wow I want this for sure!

  • @GunWebsites is it legal to carry/buy this in EU?

  • Lol, I have the same old wave, even my saw is broken off, too XD But i still love it ;)

  • I'm liking this multi tool. To bad I don't have an AR. Still....

    Thanks for posting this.

  • this is a very nasty(good) multi tool.....

  • it was designed with military in mind. Not some at home person who decided to buy hiself a glock and AR

  • I like the MUT but still prefer the charge tti with nylon sheath more capability for my usage. I like the design and it definitely shows the potential future for MT's.

  • it just looks so...........buetiful.

  • Oh damn, I love the look at that wave. It looks like it's been through hell, beyond and back

    Is it still kicking?

  • Oh forgot to say that thing makes my "core" look like a flint knapped knife with a screwdriver duct taped to it...... FANCY

  • yeah props on the review full of facts and demonstration concise and very good, also man that tool is like a buffalo was to the indians every square inch was utilized and effective, man that is one fancy tool its almost overwhelming to look at just becasue there is sooo much going on with it nice, As far as the made in china sheath i dont care a chineese lockstitch is just as strong as an american one the tool is made in the USA and that means ASTM certified material and thats what counts

  • Cool stuff from leathernan but for us unarmed europeans it´s pretty much useless

  • just got one of these, was surprised and disappointed to find a made in china tag on the sheath.

  • @booyoka seriously ? damn thats sad :(

  • Thats nice

  • If this had an AR front site adjustment tool it would be the perfect multi-tool. Nice review.

  • I don't even own an AR but I think I want a MUT just because the design.

  • nice job

  • Guys whats the EOD version difference with this?

  • @loliconagent

I ended up buying an EOD version, it has a C4 punch instead of the punch tool, and crimpers.. pretty much the same otherwise

  • @GunWebsites GEE I WISH THEY WERE MORE GENEROUS THEN THAT

  • @GunWebsites By any chance does anyone or company made a knife/multitool that is made out of titanium or such that does not rust?

  • Rusts easily. What a piece of crap.

  • I'm gonna go for it man. I was deciding between this and the Charge TTI and I decided there's more tools on this that I can use, about same price (ebay), and The looks of it are awesome. Is there anything I should know about it before I get it. I don't actually own any guns but the tools look useful for just about everything.

  • Absolute quality, i have an old leatherman sideclip which still working fine, this tool is in an another world tho!

  • I just got mine the other day I noticed on my tool as well as on your review that one of the plier handles is a little loose in the closed position. I was wondering is that how it is cause it makes it easier to open or is the piece I got just flawed? I know they have the lock to lock the pliers but either way if that not how its supposed to i wanna send it back and get a fresh new one cause that what I paid for.

    someone pls let me know.

    Thanks

  • damn im in love with it. it looks great. !!

just a few bad things. its expensive. (but proberly wurth every penny )

and worst of all. its elegal here in Denmark. for EDC, sadly im sure crying

  • is that a punch or fire steel

  • @GunWebsites I realized as soon as I said it. I'm not a gun guy but I love this tool If only for the Hammer.

Very useful for engineers in the great outdoors too.

  • @loughnanedevelopment fire steel would be a cool idea...

  • Great Review. Thanks

  • How does the Leatherman Charge TTi fit in theat brown mut's sheath?

  • My buck multitool was lost so I ordered this one, take about 5 days for delivery. I work in law enforcement and I'm for sure that the MUT become handy during my job.

    Thanks for the review.

  • @ttasd1

Hope you like it, I'm looking forward to getting one as well.

  • mine is on order, thanks for the review

  • Katerno and a few others have them for $96. Just ordered mine today.

  • what gun is that in the background

  • i have a decent size hand...

  • @LucThaz

    that is what she says

  • @ rmf080361

Thats an otis gun cleaning kit. You can buy a round case like that from maxpedition for $11.00

  • Can you use this with the SA80?

  • dude your video was the shit, already planing on upgrading cause the skeletool was close to perfect for my job and this just passed it. go folks heading over and this will make a nice departing tool. thanks

  • @lateralis4

very good idea for a gift, thanks

  • Dear Sir:

I beg you to tell me how can I purchase the round bits/accessories-container that appears on this video at 04:32, or at least its brand name, in order to seek for it elsewhere. Does it come as an optional with this Leatherman multitool plier?

Thank you for your answer, and have a wonderful 2011.

    Sincerely,

    Roberto Feliba

    Buenos Aires, Argentina

  • @rmf080361 He called it an otis cleaning kit

  • I have the leatherman wave to. It's nice I like it.

  • Great review! Thanks so much. Mine is supposed to be delivered tomorrow, and thanks to this video, I know enough about it to hit the ground running with it! Keep up the great work!

  • @hwjonesjr

thanks, at the time it was good, but check out some of the newer reviews from owners, they either changed a few things, or we missed them in our review.. so you'll have a few more tools too

  • So this is basically a skeletool on steroids?

  • @Pimpzilla300 I got a chance to see one side by side with a skeletool. Its definately NOT a skeletool. Its much bigger, and heavier. I did find humor in the fact that the female threading on the pliers were not the correct size for cleaning rods... I tried several different kinds of cleaning rods, and they went in about 1/4 of the way, but def not the right size... Ultimate fail, Leatherman, ultimate fail...

  • @RuffCuff

As mentioned int he video, they work with military & Otis kits.. you either didn't listen to that part or don't know that civilian & military kits typically use different threads...

    ultimate fail, your research

  • @GunWebsites no I have military kits, and an otis kit... It threaded onto the male punch threat perfectly. The female thread, none did. Still fail on Leatherman's part. And the carbon scraper is a joke. Still a bad ass paper weight though.

  • Wow, this is an impressive new tool. I am a fan/owner of the SOG, but I have to say that this would be my next choice. Great review, keep it real.

  • great review thanks. 4 idiots dis-liked this vid btw!

  • I don't care if I don't have a gun! I'll find a use for this!

  • Can someone tell me what the rotating hook thingy just below the rope cutter is? Manual doesn't mention it.

  • @joffeloff

    it locks the handles closed

  • leatherman products arent made in the USA, they are assembled in the USA. it says so on their website. the parts come from china and mexico

  • @joeratti @joeratti They are assembled in the USA using mainly American-made parts. Check out their website for a video of their factory in Oregon and shots of the manufacturing process.

  • Very nice looking multi-tool. Will buy

  • Does this mean Leatherman doesnt support anti-gun politics anymore?

  • @RuffCuff does leatherman makes guns ? no , so they still support anti-gun politics but just want to make a usefull and very helpfull tool for troops allover the world , it's not like this MUT is gonna take more lives than the guns did before just because it helps cleaning/maintaining your weapons/guns , it only makes sure that whoever handles this tool will be much safer cause of easier and faster cleaning/maintaining of the gun/weapon , so in that way saves lives ...

  • @viniv20 The point im trying to make is that gun owners will be unlikely to purchase leatherman products because of their anti gun politics.

  • This is the first tool I've ever seen that made me go "holy shit"

  • How much will it cost?

  • @Eksteven4321 you can get it new off of amazon for about 150$ and that comes with the case and wrench

  • Nice review. Can't wait to hear some user feedback and ultimately what the guys in the sandbox think of it. Thx

  • want want want want want want WANT!

  • Thank you for the preview video, GunWebsites! I love all your reviews and comparisons, we all really appreciate your time and efforts. I'm seriously thinking about buying the MUT when it comes out to replace my old Gerber.

  • the MUT looks cool. maybe next time you review a tool like this you can refrain from the constant movement. it is a little hard to see some of the details when it is being turned and flipped non-stop.

  • it would probably do some good for diy around the house as well

  • Man, this is a great review! Very thorough. Thanks!

  • Holy shi- I was looking for a good multi-tool to keep around for edc and shooting and I come arcoss your vid and now i want a MUT. Thanks for the vid and I am looking forward to the release of this :)

  • im not a fan of utility tools but it looks pretty badass

  • So it will come out in the States in September... When can we expect it for us to buy up in Canada? Looks like a good and very useful tool. Thank you for the review!

  • Let's be honest here. It would come in handy for pliers, cutting, and maybe to tighten a screw... That's it. $150.00??? Get real Leatherman... Fail.

  • Good Stuff. I think I'm gunna need two of those

  • Good review.

  • really cool tool actually. Would be very handy for lots of things actually.

  • thats beautiful i want one

  • leather man store .com/MUT Pre-Order LT's Newest MUT Tool. Only $149.85. Plus Free Shipping!

  • is that a new camra or did i jsut happen to clean my glassess to day...great review..have too look for that ..only reason i would by it..is jsut for an A.R...i like the S.O.G.power assitted ..but its not made for the A.R.'S..again great review..

  • @blackquiver

the cameras we've been using all year now, but uploaded in full HD

  • really cool

  • I like how they advertise some of the tools as replaceable. Id like to see someone try to replace that carbon scraper, or belt clip five or ten years from now...

  • New leatherman on top of an ACR. Aren't you guys cool :P

  • @Atreid3s

had to have a good backdrop.. LOL

  • in the vid the tool sounded kinda loose like the handles would open up a little to easy, is it loose?

  • @creation94

This one wasn't loose at all, and I suspect it's seen some use already, it's being shown to media and reporters who are all doing reviews, etc. I'm sure it's getting opened and closed a lot

  • Thanks, very terminator like. I like it.

  • Freakin amazing multi-tool, just hope the price comes down to something more reasonable like $120 or so.

  • @Llepsdog

Usually always cheaper online soon after they debut

I'm hoping the make one like it in a medium size too

  • I WANT ONE OR TWO!

  • Very cool! Great review!

  • Great review. One of the best .

  • i like the tool yep yep. i also like how the closed captioning almost knew everything you were saying.

  • Not a fan of the MUT but i love the sheath. My Surge sheat isn't the greatest. I like that one.

  • love it.. Coming soon to your PX!

  • The ''bolt overide tool'' looks like it could be used to break a window.

  • @bobbycombo

    Very true, good thinking

  • great review!!!

  • I cant stop staring at your cut on your finger. Did the MUT do that?

  • @therealcarbine15

No, well sort of.. I was looking all over for my Leatherman Wave to compare this one to, and in the process I cut the finger on a sharp edge of a drawer... so I did cut it like 30 mins before filming..

  • Thumbs Up my Friend!!

  • A very well thought-out tool.

  • "Made in U.S.A.,so you know where talking quality stuff here".....lol,gotta love it,that was priceless!!!!!!!

  • @jdhp45toy

?? not sure where the joke is there ?

  • @GunWebsites not a joke, you said it at begining of the vid. I love that we are able to have quality products that are made in the USA. and I realy appreciate that. I think any time a product is made here in the USA,we should op for it rather than something thats made elsewhere, even if the cost is a little cheaper. just my honest opinion

  • @jdhp45toy

Ahh, OK I read it a different way

  • WTF is that

  • Very cool. I'm not a big fan of Leatherman, but this actually looks like a nice tool. Kind of looks like something Mad Max would carry. You did a review on the SOG Powerassist, do you prefer the MUT over the SOG?

  • @ConditionRedDawn

Wow thats a tough one.. I really like both.. I guess I'd go MUT only because its a bit newer and might have more tools ..

but did the SOG have replaceable wire cutters? (if it did it will be an even tougher decision)

  • that right there is a multi-tool on steroids!!!

  • wow i wonder when they launch that in sweden

  • That line/cord/material cutter at the top looks like a Veff serration. Should do the job

  • I am going to get me one when avaialable, for sure!! Nice review.

  • Thanks for posting this video. Looking fwd to picking one up

  • guess who gonna buy that? :D

  • @KUMMELI909 my cat?
