When a pastor or preacher can not name and itemize sin, ppl will pick it up. I am also JESUS NAME and its VERY SAD of you to be so blind and see how the Jesus Name movement has backed up! About 10 years ago I preached revivals for a Church of God, Cleveland TN and the pastor and his wife were in their 80's. They were holiness people. That church has now moved away from it. You can certainly tell a huge difference today. Many of the older ones today used to be holiness. What they have gained in the crowds they have lost in the anointing.

There is a clear distinct difference between legalism and righteousness. We were called out of the world when we received the message of Jesus Christ, and to sin no more. Is it a sin to listen to contemporary music? No. But the music is filled with idolatry, sexual immorality, effiminism, and countless other sins. I have the "WORLDLY DRESS AND ADORNMENT" document put out by the General Executive Council of the COG under the leadership of Wade H. Horton. The Church of God must return back to it's roots of pentecost!

The last time I was at a COG campmeeting, the evangelist had to designate this one to run and this one to jump up and down and this one over here to shout. He told them when to run and when to jump. This guy said the "spirit of growth" is alive in Alabama. That is the "spirit" that hijacked the old-time COG. This "spirit" has wrecked many movements in church history. Quit counting nickels and noses and start preaching the whold truth. It's still Holiness or Hell. The Holy Ghost honors truth! The "spirit of growth" only honors peoples feelings and seeks to make the world comfortable in the church. Ray Hughes preached in the early 70s that this would happen to the COG. He was right.

I am 36 yrs old and was raised in the COG. I left in the early 90s when this shift began to happen and began attending the Independent Holiness Churches. Now they are following the same path. I cried when I seen the stark contrast between the 7th and 8th minute of this video. It is like 2 totally different churches. The COG prided itself of being distinctly a Holiness Pentecostal church. Now it is just another Charismatic gig. I'm glad God gave me the real Holy Ghost before the COG backslid.

The Church of God seems to have compromised in three major areas of doctrine: 1.) they no longer emphasize the baptism of the Holy Ghost as they once did, 2.) they no longer preach entire sanctification as it was preached in the movement from the beginning, and 3.) holiness has been discarded for a more fresh, contemporary approach to Christian living. Not to mention, the style of music has changed a great deal.

Yes, I agree. I know the Assembly of God is nothing like it was in the 60's-70's. They two have left these areas. There are a few that still hold to some but most have left that for a new, gentler kind of teaching.

If the Holy Ghost was move in there church's I'm not sure what they would do. They will tell you that worship today is much deeper then it was back then. Also many oneness church's are now letting go of these same areas. We need a Holy Ghost Revival. But I'm afraid we are now willing

Come to my church if you think the anointing has died... The anointing hasn't died the people have died. There is never a service in my church where the Holy Ghost isn't over almost every saved soul in the house.
