What difference does it make if she sounds like Patsy or not? WTF? I saw her play at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine when she was out supporting "Absolute Torch And Twang", and she is one of those rare singers who has more dynamics and vocal presence live than on a recording. In my 53 years and uncountable concerts I have only experienced that two or three times. Seeing her and the awesome Reclines at that time was something that has stayed with me for a long time.

Ms Lang IS like Patsy Cline with respect to their vocal range. It was appropriate that she was tapped by Roy Orbison to duet as he too had a similar range. k.d.lang is a gem, she is soulful and could carry most musical genres...if you like this, may suggest Melody Gardot? She is much more jazz oriented, but also has a beautiful soulful voice.

I had heard a lot about k.d. lang, and had seen her on TV before, but had never heard her sing before. Once I finally did, I realized that she has one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard. Totally different than what I had expected. I first heard her song "Constant Craving" on Sirius XM '90s on 9 about two or three years ago, and loved it! Then I listened to her other songs. They're all great!
