We have been researching dogs for a while to find the right temperment for our family and Newfies are at the top of the list.

you cannot find another breed that is so laid back but protective than the Newfoundland dog :) I would highly recommend this dog to those who have a family of kids and who loves to swim.

the Newfoundland breed does get costly, up to a $1000 at least. Find a reputable breeder and not some puppy mill :( think of a rescue that is part Nfld dog, cause even if there is a least bit of that breed in a dog, you have a winner no matter what. Good luck in your search :)

@steammaker24 thats cheap mate, my mother spent £1400 on a bitch 9 months ago. i think that is about $2000.

but whichever way you look at it, i'd pay £10,000 for a newfie. no question about it. best dogs in the world.

yeah paying a thousand bucks for a Newfie is pretty cheap but here where the breed is from and where I am from I have seen people breed them and sell them for that much. I seen an ad on Kijiji Canada about a lady in the east of the province that sold the pups for $1000.And I agree with you, I would pay a lot for a Newfie as well, they are the best in the world :) I had one that was part Newfie and part Labbie, he was the greatest friend in the world :D

i love newfies,they are so friendly and sweet,if you train and socialize them right.

I have a newfy crossbreed between newfoundland dog and bernese mountain dog, but his looks and character are more newfy
