yeah, this really is a terrible video. i wonder it is out there that thinks everybody wants to see 100 cuts a minute and watch footage that constantly varies in speed, and you can't even hear the damn truck. worthless, edited by a 16 yr. old

Look, THIS IS NOT A GERMAN CAR. It's a regular hand built in California Trophy Truck. The only things on it from the original Touareg are the engine and the front grill; nothing else. Even the transmission is an aftermarket UK based Xtrac. The whole chassis is 4130 tube frame just like all the other off-road cars. The body is just fiberglass shaped like an oversize Touareg.

You are right in that this car is not German made. That being said, most of the engineering in the chassis and drivetrain sans the transmission is German. VW is drawing off of their Dakar winning Touareg design and applying it to baja. They will win before too long.

You've been falling for too much marketing hype. This vehicle was designed and built at Arciero-Miller Racing in California. American designer Trevor Harris was brought in to design and layout the chassis and suspension. The entire project has nothing to do with Germany or the Touaregs of Dakar, save having the same engine and corporate sponsor.
