Nikita Filatov was the 2nd best foward in the draft! Yeah I agree the leafs do lack defense but we could have drafted Hedman next year who is ranked ahead of Tavares now after Tavares shity season for him last year. Also you do understand that Tavares is one of the worst skaters in the OHL right? That's why he only played on the powerplay for team canada! I said he was kind of similar because he's putting up stats that are far better than anyone else in his league. And if Tavares can still put up numbers like that and be having a "shitty season", that's still pretty damn good. Everyone has off seasons too. We'll probably still get Hedman in the future, seeing as Tavares will almost certainly go first, and Schenn will need a year or two in the minors to fully develop. I think Schenn was a perfectly logical draft choice. It just makes sense.
