I agree that we need to make more of our products ourselves, and that we need to consume less, and that we need to make higher quality things that last rather than disposable junk.

But I disagree that China will be fucked. For one thing, we've already significantly cut back in how much we buy from them (I don't know the exact figure but it's a lot). It hurt them, but their strength now is in owning our debt and owning mines and other commodities worldwide. They don't need to sell us crap now.
