Jeter has been a great player with a career 73 WAR, but he won’t come close to being the best Yankee ever with Ruth, Gehrig, Mantle and Dimaggio. But that is still a great accomplishment. I think current Yankee fans see the amazing players who have played for them in the past Ruth, Mantle etc. and are desperate to put Jeter in the same category but he's not.
