  • @Realme0115 my life suddenly makes sence.

  • I love this song, along with every song on this album. I have it in vinyl, but I don't have a record player :(

  • 4 people need to hitch a ride. (and be left in a ditch, doused in petrol and lit on fire...)

  • no one fuckin touches Boston's organ solos.

  • calms me down :)

  • Top Banana !

  • Good job noticing that.(:

  • Greatest song ever!!(:

  • maybe the greatest debut album in the history of music, considering there were only 8 songs on the record. this is my fave boston tune

  • Best guitar solo ever. RIP Brad, you're sorely missed. I mean the 2nd solo BTW.

  • This has the crispest, cleanest drum piece I have ever heard.

  • Fun Fact #2: the ufo/guitars have small cities in a dome above them

  • I always thought that the blue ray was a bird thing...

  • @06DrummerBoy15 OH I SEE IT!!!!!

  • Oops. I thought it was black not like. Well, it's not the first time or probably the last that I goofed up lyrics.

  • Great song and great post. Thanks for including the lyrics. I've always liked the opening line. Day is night in New York City. Smoke black water runs inside.

  • Freeking great song.

  • One of the best guitar solos in classic rock history.

  • @KeenanCase HAHAHAHAHA ONE OF?!?!?!?1

your words are poorly chosen friend let me revise that statement for you

The best guitar solo in music history.

  • @mitch13815 I often tell people that very thing;-)

  • thumbs up if you have this cd

  • no kiddding their guitars...notice the citys inside them?

  • there is not one bad song on this whole album

  • tom scholz you complete me

  • I hope the gay mind retaded justin bieber lover who said dislike to the video dies from aids after having sex with his gay boyfriend

  • Love this group. When Brad died I cried because part of my youth went also. Rest in peace Brad, thanks for your music.

  • 1 Person doesn't get it....

  • Makes me wanna burn one and kick back!

  • great solo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Unreal lead guitar. So melodic, the note selection is SUPERB. And the bass line is ridic. Hats off to Boston, for incredible song writing.

  • no dislikes. awesome

  • why is this NEVER on the radio(KLOS) and all the other songs are all the time. Not to hate on the other stuff, but this is my favorite along with foreplay/long time

  • @thiswaterisdry yea where i live they play the same 3 or 4 boston songs they need to spice it up a bit!

  • ya know i remember being a teenager in the 70's. this album was at any friends house you were partying at at the time. as you get older your lucky to have 2 or 3 friends. back then it was more like 10 to 15

  • The saddest thing is we will never know how powerful these guys could have been had they not been silenced due to contractual issues. WAAAy ahesd of their and all others time.

  • Fun Fact. The UFO's are actually flying guitars

  • @MinecraftPenguins based on ovations i think !

  • @MinecraftPenguins Nice. Never saw that. =]

  • @MinecraftPenguins do you see the 4 strings on the first one.

  • Good job noticing that.(:

  • @MinecraftPenguins WOW! I didn't even notice that...

  • @MinecraftPenguins If they're flying guitars, then wouldn't that make them identified flying objects?

  • mrdjh66 AMAZING. I just noticed after you pointed that out. How the hell did I miss that. I remember when the album first came out and until now, I never realized that! Can anyone even conceive of music like this now? And if so, can they even begin to actualize it, on real instruments? This is one of the few albums that has continued to ring in my mind after these decades. Were these guys fantastic musicians, or what!

  • Every note is pitch-perfect. The production value is incredible. Scholz is known as a perfectionist and it really shows on this song.

  • sometimes listening to these amazing shreding harmonic solo's is better than masterbating

  • 1976 best days of my life would not swap it for anything

  • why is it that even the slower songs from way back when has a 'triumph' type of sound and energy to them? today's crap is a whine fest....america and great britain---what happened to our rock and roll? we suck now lol wait, correction, we SUCK EPICLY now lol we gotta get back to the basics.

  • This song reminds of the first girl who broke my heart.

  • cold as shit in the northeast tonite.i love this fucking album..

  • Tom Scholz- another underrated guitarist. It's a shame because the guy can really play, and just listen to that monster tone! He always has really nice melodic solos, but he can certainly play the fast runs too.

  • @sbberkp

this song defines Scholz at his very best ! flat out hauls ass, FAT SUPER tone and exquisite harmony

  • pure pleasure!!!

  • holy crap ..!!! flashbacks!!!!! YEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!

  • Hey dummer I don't feel so bad now I am not the only one that didn't notice.I didn't do drugs growing up maybe I should have

  • i love this everytime i listen to this song i have a musical high!

  • Wow, what spectacular guitar work. Fuckin1 unbelievable!

  • I've played this song countless times, and it never gets old...and it never will!!!

  • so glad i grew up in the 70s no better time

  • @MrDjh66 Me too!

  • i just noticed the space ships are guitars after all these years wow

  • @MrDjh66 wow i have never noticed tht either HA

  • Smoking guitar and keyboards as well as vocials, DAMN I wish they still made music like this again!

  • Best guitar solo fookin EVER

  • i love this song alot, as well as many other boston songs ! :)

  • unless you want that guitar to make you explode.. keep hitting the like button....

  • @PrairieKid03 actually the guitars are all flying away from the exploding earth. Large cities built guitar shaped spaceships underneath them and then fled the earth in them. The one with the most rocking music happens to be Boston.

  • there are no idiots who have watched this so far =) excellent

  • "Hitch A Ride" is another reason why Boston's debut album will go down in rock history as the best-selling debut album of the rock era. It's songs like this that made their LP sell like crazy in 1976.Tom Scholz and Brad Delp know how to make one hellofa rock and roll album that STILL sounds awesome 34 years later.

  • I remember summer of 1977. I was six and I heard this song for the first time. My big brother plugged in the 8 track and said, "Listen to this". If I remember correctly, the third track would click to the fourth in between walkdown and lead. I stared in amazement at his day-glo poster of Pink Floyd on the wall and knew this is what I want to do. I did, am and always will. Music is cathartic for the soul. Without it I'm a wreck. This song brings everything back home to why I started.

  • @mayabelle1107 lol....what a great story!!!

  • ha ha 0 dislikes, thats what I like to see!!

  • CLASSIC !!!

  • Such a great tune!

  • I freakin' love cruising around in my Grand Prix with the Bose system blasting this shit and doing burnouts with all of my friends.

  • Without a doubt the cleanest band I have ever heard.

  • absolutely the best boston song ever, and I love them all but I think Brad would agree this is his best work

  • wow wish i was 15 or 16 years old around this time.....=(

  • AUCHH! The Absolutely DROP-DEAD GORGEOUS, liquid-sounding harmonies in the choruses Still make my throat all bumpy an' s**t, even after all these years! Those were some of the tightest, most together, in-tune multi-part (What can I say? I love hyphens!) vocals of ANY band to come down the pike. Yep, "Losdiaz666", I'm right with you there! It ALL is such a polished, complete performance of a beautiful song! (BTW, THANKS for posting it!)

  • The rock music back then was smooth and had nice rhythm and awesome guitar riffs. Todays popular rock music sounds less rhythmic and VERY herky jerky. Something is missing in the new style of popular rock music.

    Agree?

  • listening to this piece with headphones; paradise; clarity, clarity !!! Note: the headphones are those that go all the way in, thus the bass is much better. .

  • Takes me back to the best times of my life. Thanks for an excellent post!!! This is one of the deal breakers that led me to spend 30 years + playin` my ax. What a great friggin song.

  • listened this album in Padre in '82. about 20 times!

  • The new generation has it all wrong. Any song by Lady Ga Ga has 10,000,000+ views and this song has 26,000???? WTF

I'll take my generation thank you very much.

  • @johnex3303 AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • if im not mistaken...i think the solo is shared by both their guitarists...i may be wrong but when i saw them live they shared the solo and it rocked my fucking tits off....this album has to be one of my favs!

  • The memories this song brings back. Me 17, my girl 16....my 73 Camaro (how did we do the things we did in that backseat???? Now here we are 31 years later and still together. Let those brought together by BOSTON be not torn assunder!!!!

  • @novemberwolf117 Let me guess, you also had a Pioneer Super Tuner AM/FM Casette with a booster and 4 Craig Powerplay speakers? That's what I had in 1975 442

  • 4 minutes and 12 seconds of goose bumps, and it's frickin hot out. The most underrated and underplayed song on the Best Rock Album Ever, start to finish, front to back. Thank you so much for this post, made my day!!

  • The best!! These guys had it together!!!

  • Great band, great song. The first stanza of the lyrics make me think of 911.

  • This whole album brings back great memories. Still numbr 1 in my book of favorites.

  • I like the 0 dislikes. Anyone who doesn't like this song is gay.

Matter a' fact, I think every Boston is awesome, and if you don't like any, then you're just plain messed up. Boston is EPIC.

  • Best Band Ever-Could they play their axes,or what? And their vocals, wow. There wasn't a bad song on this album!Saw them in '79,sounded just like the studio.

  • This is so amazing. I hit a homerun playing baseball when this song was on

  • I missed this concert cuz I dint wanna borrow the money, I coulda paid it back easy but I still kick myself for not goin

  • GAY???? *LMAO* No, not even close. They were a 70's band and a great one. There music was meant to mellow people out after all the strife from the 1960's. Nam was over and it was a time for the nation to heal. Boston's music did that very well. Just enjoy the music people, thats all it is about. If it isn't your kind of music why are you here?

  • Who ever said they were gay obviosly doesn't understand the best band in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • haha it's always someone's dad that shows them classic rock, including mine :P

  • @spellingbeechamp for me it was my mom that showed me this band and def leopard, my dad showed me ACDC led zepp, etc

  • @spellingbeechamp That what dads do, I took my son to his first concert "rush" in Tampa FL. It was sureal watching him jam the way I did when I was his age to the same band...lol

  • always have love this song even that 70's organ sound

  • As they place me in the ground for good I want this playing!!! Hitching a ride to the other-side!!! Peace be with you all!!

  • Such a awsome solo !!

  • god bless brad !

  • Mw and my dad were getting the last of our stuff out of San Diego when we moved to Florida, and we were driving all the way down there, he told me to reach into the console and look through the CD's and this one i picked out, i was 6 and now im 13, its been my favourite band ever since

  • My dad showed me boston when i was around 6 years old and i fucking loved them, now im 16 and they are by far my favorite band!!!!!!! BOSTON ROCKKSS!!!

  • A song from my youth. I have always admired the guitar work in this song.

  • Tom Scholz is 1 smart dude. An MIT grad in Mechanical Engineering, He had a keen interest in music and even had a home recording studio.

  • yes, he also inveneted and patented a process for the polaroid one step camera I belive he once was an engineer there
