[Lesley Stahl on U.S. sanctions against Iraq: "We have heard that a half million children have died. I mean, that's more children than died in Hiroshima. And, you know, is the price worth it?"; Secretary of State Madeleine Albright: "I think this is a very hard choice, but the price--we think the price is worth it." — "60 Minutes" (5/12/96)]
Madeleine Albright is one of those deceitful women in government, full of nonsense and making look that she is more intelligent than she really is. She is bad, but much worse representing our government. I also find her quite repulsive as a person.
I have trouble respecting anything Madeline says after her response to a question regarding the 500,000 Iraqi children that died after the first Gulf War. She said it was "a price to pay." It was at that point when I started comparing her to Jabba the Hut.
Obama is the only candidate that seems to get this point.. he wants to pull American troops our of Iraq and do that through diplomacy so that the middle east patrols their own borders... we have reduced iraq to rubble.. and no we are going to be in there for years to correct our faults... we will be there for years to rebuild Iraq..... We can't win ther until we talk to them.... and this president.. and John McCain who hopes to replace him won't do that........
Image??? that tells you the motive, its not that its the right thing to do its all about image.. what the hell..these turds in the whitehouse care nothing about other countries.. all she says is about image..hell, why didnt they try to worry about image or morals with Bush running his mouth in the past.. what a bunch of sick pigs
You're assuming that Arab countries are independent states, which they are not. Nearly all were created by Britain and France, and are now client regimes of the US. Go read a history book and you might learn something for a change.
Do I really have to answer to your silly comment? Because if you still think USA is a satalite of Great Britan, then yeah you have a point, if not then maybe you just read a history book, congratulations, keep it too yourself.
Correction, deadmeat. Most Arab countries are indeed client regimes of the US, so your initial "question" about Arab countries "repairing their reputation" is beyond irrelevant. The US is not a satellite of Britain. Go read a history book and maybe a geography one as well.
Then again, I shouldn't expect much from someone subscribed to a bigot like "investigateislam."
That is true. But if Iraq is going to use that excuse as a reason to invade and occupy Kuwait, then there shouldn't be any complaints for the U.S. mis-fortunate actions today. The problem is that people forget the lessons of diplomacy, and the reason why international bodies like the UN was founded in the first place.
Google April Glaspie, the then US ambassador to Iraq who gave Saddam the green light to invade Kuwait. The US knew about Iraqi build up at the Iraqi-Kuwait border through spy satellite.
Go check out "Hidden Wars of Desert Storm" documentary.
Ok thats kool but after we pushed them out of Kuwait why invade Iraq or after invading IRaq why are we still holding the country. Why did we install a puppet government. It just goes on and on.
As far as I can tell, setting up new puppet regimes as the old ones have either outlived their usefulness or don't want to take orders anymore. Oh, and ISRAEL of course, the elephant in the room no one wants to talk about. The tail waging the dog.

Praise Albright. It was worth killing those 500,000 terrorist Iraqi children.

You forget one little thing: Iraq invaded Kuwait, a key ally of the United States.
dswynne 3 years ago
Yes Saddam did commit crimes in Kuwait. However, if I remember correctly Kuwait threatened to sabotage Iraq's oil in the Gulf.

Well I don't remember Saddam sabotaging our oil trade by illegal means. Anyway I don't make the comment to defend Saddam. Good riddance.
