@LukeSniper Well first of all you didnt say that in the video, and second of all you said that "Spider chord changes" were partially inspired by Dave Mustaine when "Spider chord changes" is exactly what he made, but I guess we just misunderstood eachother
@wdxaw Yes, it is. My hosting company went out of business, before I could get another one, I lost my home. A couple months later my domain expired and some Chinese dude bought it and wants $200 for it. Basically 2011 has been REALLY crappy.
Send me a private message with your e-mail and I will send you the pdf.
Question about the last part with the octaves. When you're picking, I imagine you're using your thumb and your pointer/middle/ring finger. Do you just keep using your thumb and one finger, or for each octave change, do you switch to the next finger donw the line, and repeat?
@NathanCMusicz As I mentioned, I've got a classical background. A general guideline for classical picking is that your thumb handles the E A and D strings, while your index, middle, and ring fingers handle the G B and E strings respectively.
Obviously, you can't play the first part with just your thumb, so I use my thumb and index finger. Any notes on the B string are played with my middle finger, notes on the high E are played with my pinky.
@NathanCMusicz It's a tough exercise! Make sure you stay in position the whole time. Your index finger can ONLY play 1st fret notes, middle finger ONLY plays 2nd, and so on.
@LukeSniper i don't even understand what dave was telling navarro. there is something in the video that they talk at the same time explaining what is the spider chord and how to do it but i dont understand it
This was very difficult for me to follow. It's really hard to see where you're putting your fingers from here, and you do a weird job describing where they're going, and you talk to fast and quiet.
The one thing I have noticed in all the videos on the spider chord is that Dave as he explains it does not life the 1st and 3rd finger. In Wake up Dead he never lifts them. Check out the video with Dave Navarro and you can clearly see it.
thx dude, i saw the same video (the one with Dave Navarro?) and i didnt get it, thx you help me understand it :D what song was that, of megadeth in concert? that sound heavy and fucking awsome
PARTIALLY inspired? -.-

@TheDawnDelight Yes, partially. It's also inspired by the intro to the Joe Satriani song "Big Bad Moon".
So there... smartass

@xler12 actually, there's a video of him telling Dave Navarro how to do it. He doesn't talk about any creative ways to practice it though.
