  • Thanks for help. I hate book reader of sony and I wasn't secure which buy.

  • LOL the Sarah Palin book... it's probably full of nothing but 3 letter words. THE CAT RAN.

  • @techmaster242

    RUDE!...D BAG!

  • @surfinthefray How's it rude? The bad part of the whole thing is that the book has pictures where they intentionally left out the color so you can color the pictures yourself...so by getting it on an e-reader, you miss out on a big part of the experience.

  • great video!!!

  • This video is extremely helpful. Thank you!

  • You got me sold on the nook i am going to order one

  • Thank you for taking the time to make this review. It certainly helped me make a more informed decision about this product.

  • Your previous video was awsome. This current is also informative, but out of focus. Seriously. :-)

    Thanks for posting!

  • i think i am going to wait until the Kindle 3 to come out, then compare these two

  • Kindle 3 is out, called DX. By the way, the new 6" (or so) Kindle may be announced in early 2011.

  • well i knew about that, but i didnt really classify that as the next gen.of the kindle

eh, maybe i will just get this, but i heard it is a lot slower

  • Well, if a second is a "lot of time", yes, Nook is a lot slower. I think, Nook 2 (or it's international version) may match or even goes beyond Kindle 2's performance.

Take a look at CES and all new procucts and announcements.

  • I got my nook today, but how do I get 1.1.1???

Btw the Barnes and Noble Nook is awesome

  • My nook gets shipped out feb 1. I can't wait!

  • Right now the only downside to the nook for me is that it doesn't have much content for students and the web browser...none of the textbooks or books I need are available for download via b&n...having these capabilities will help make students lives much easier and boost b&n sales...until then kindle might be my best option :( maybe I'll have to wait for the next generation of nook...b&n's upcoming hue might be better

  • @chazell101 you can buy kindle books from amazon and download them to your computer and then transfer them to your nook. if you do a google search for "transfer from kindle to nook" you can find out exactly how to do this.

  • Mine gets here the 4th (chirstmas present)

The kindle drm has also been broken so if you want to you can now turn amazon ebooks into epub's and put them on the nook....Just FYI

  • Thanks for this video. You are probally rigth that the speed of changing the pages dont really matter that much in real life, but it did look much slower than the Sony in the last Nook video.

    Already ordered me a Nook.

  • I got my nook yesterday. I love it.

  • I thinking of getting a ebook reader just a question, does the bottom screen bothers you, if at all? I was thinking of getting this over the Kindle or Sony reader but I'm not sure if the bottom screen gets annoying after a while.

  • No. The touchscreen turns itself off when it's not being used. You can program it to turn off 10, 30 or 60 seconds after no use. While reading it's not on, unless you're trying to bookmark something or use some other feature.

  • Thank God the firmware made it faster. I think I may join the folks on Feb 1 who get their Nooks as well. Yay

  • I also have to wait till February- I cannot wait however I dont mind waiting as it gives BN time to get the fixes done right. Looking forward from the class of February 2010.

  • Thanks for the review I cant wait until christmas

  • People slamming the nook are probably, paper book hardliners, or kindle lovers.

    Great post.

  • I'd add to that that they're probably pissed they blew their wads on the Kindle(ing) because they didn't want to wait for backorders. I'd be upset too, if I got a Kindle(ing) and then realized I could have waited a month and had an ebook reader with a) expandable memory b) PDF support built in c) replaceable rechargeable battery d) color/touch screen e) wifi 802.11 e) synced notes/annotations f) personalized jpg screensavers etc...

Shit, I'd blow my bitch up in a car if she got me a kindle...

  • wow... that now I will definitely be buying this gadget (I was only wanting to see if Barnes and noble was going to be true to there words and update the slow/ sluggish controls) and it does seem like all is well and more is on the way! no bad i have to wait until feb!
