i have a custom 09 pony package. beautiful sunday driver. all visual parts and an exhaust so far. what do you reccomend to get me 500 RWHP and to get in the 12's. BTW mad props for your ride. screw GT's gotta be original and different
wow, mad respect. sick stang, and fast as hell. what would you recommend for a twin turbo setup? my friend was saying a gt32, but i think that might be too big.
Yep, too big. I'm running a single T3TO4E .60 AR compressor and .63 AR Turbine. You'd be better off with two GT 25s or equivalent, maybe smaller. I'm going to TT my 2011 3.7 V6 and will be using 2 GSP turbos. .43 AR compressors and .48 AR turbines. They will spool quick, turn the car into a torque monster like my 06 (480 @ 12PSI) and will have a TT app headroom of about 650-700 HP with FMIC. More if I add meth; which I will.
Yes, I got a Cona Blue a few months back. Current mods are 3.73s, aluminum DS, FRPP N springs, black 18 inch deep dish Bullitts, and a 93 octane tune; although the tune never worked properly and I've not thoroughly tested a revision Fred sent (Evolution) yet.
@forced4motorsports nice, my bud just got a Kona blue GT a little while back. Manual or auto? Ford really got it right this time, the new Stangs are fast as hell, I guess you'll be the judge of how strong they are haha. Can't wait to see some vids!
The turbo is a T3/T4 TO4E with an AR .63 Turbine and a AR .60 Compressor. I fabricated the hot and cold sides of the kit.
As for internal work, there's nothing done to the block. The stock heads have Nissan 909-1 comp cam valve springs in them to prevent valve float - that's all I've done to the motor. However, to support this kind of power you will need to shore up your drive line. If you have a manual, you'll need to replace it with a Tremec 3650 or TKO and you'll need an 8.8 rear at minimum.
How much boost you running now? 1.77's not bad. imo you need a wot box on it so you can open the throttle fully off the line.
A good friend of mine runs a srt4 neon with a 60T. He installed the wot box and went from 1.8's to high 1.5's with a 2 step. Of course he's running slicks as well.
You'' def have 11 next year. I cant wait til spring gets here.
14+ PSI - the 1.77 was on the second run and I missed the 1-2 shift... it jammed on me mid shift. It's happened before and I think it's the modded GT shift arm that's the problem. I'll probably have MGW send me a replacement V6arm before the 11 season starts. The 12.17 was made with a 1.887 60 so I know 11s are there easy. I'm running bias-ply and that's as close to a slick as I'll go - I should see high 1.5s with a good 5500 RPM launch and the tires properly heated... maybe a driver mod. lol
Thanks JT. I managed a 1.77 on the second run but jammed 2nd. Still hit 12.48. If I had not missed the shift I would have hit 11.9x. In my excitement with the new 27" tires & thinking about the run instead of the moment I did the burnouts in 1st - this killed my 60s. I won't make that mistake again.
I just installed a BAP so I can up the boost, switched to a 27X7 bias-ply front runner, installed a CF hood, and took another 100 lbs off the car. I plan on hitting 11s the 1st time out in 2011.
HEY HOW U DOIN IWUZ WONDERIN IF U DNT MIND ME AZKN WAT ALL DO U HAVE DONE 2 UR CAR N BOUT HOW MUCH DID IT ALL COZT B CUZ I HAVE A 08 V6 PRETTY MUCH SAME AZ UR N IWANTED SUM IDEAZ
damn jenna its been for ever i was hoping you would get your 11s but still an amzing run/ride. question is the bottom end stilll stock on the cologne 4.0?
Hey biff - slow season for me. I only got out to the track three times. I redid the entire turbo kit and that took me about 2.5 months. I actually redid it twice; the first was obviously a fail but it was a good learning experience.
Motor is still stock. Only thing non-stock are the valve springs.

Hey, I also have a v6 mustang, I'm looking to turbo. what type of turbo did you put on it. also what internals did you have change?

@forced4motorsports What about for an automatic? Will that need replacing as well?
CBMECHA 3 months ago
No, the 5r55 in the V6 is pretty stout. A slightly higher stall converter would be good though.

Better luck next year jenna! Your 60' is holding you back. Need to build more boost off the line cause you def have the mph to run 11's.
And maybe I might get my car to a 1/4 mile strip to bust off an 11sec pass as well in my 03v6. I know my 1/8th mile et and traps are good for it.
Good luck!!
