Clutterbuck's hit could paralyze someone, Gillies' hit wouldn't hurt anyone that wasn't playing it up for a penalty.

Clutterbuck is the one that delivered a brutal hit from behind, Gillies didn't hit him from behind, he hit him right in the shoulder, side to side on a guy that just delivered one of the most dangerous hits in sports. Clutterbuck's hit could paralyze someone, Gillies' hit wouldn't hurt anyone that wasn't playing it up for a penalty.
