  • Im one of the lucky ones of this Earth who not only has a May Red Special but I had the absolute honour of shaking the hand and having a chat with Brian back in 1999.. It was a very surreal moment in my life thinking that I had just shook hands with one of the greatest musicians of all time. He was so polite and relaxed that after a few minutes chatting with him I was the one who said I had to go... I was so overwhelmed I could not think of anything more to say... Top guy!

  • I respect John for making a statement of not joining them and keep Queen as it was it will never be the same but at the same time I respect, admire and applaud Roger and Brian for keeping alive the memories and supervising everything that came after Freddie, with their approval they make sure everything keeps in good taste and in accordance to their wishes, truthful to what it really was and of course sharing profits that's the least they deserve... others would have done it anyway...

  • brian and roger rock

  • Masters at work

  • i want red special !

  • I met an ex-RAF pilot who told me he used to be in a band in college in England, and the drummer and the guitarist quit. So a little blonde drummer from another band approached him & asked if he could fill in as a drummer and this guy refused and told him "he partied too hard and was a rubbish drummer".

A few years down the track he had forgotten about this until a friend asked if he had heard a brilliant new band with the blonde drummer in it.

This band had just released Bohemian Raphsody

  • They look like James May and Richard Hammond lol

  • @DriveByInAYugo i know!! go queen and top gear!!!

  • This looks like Rockfield Studios.

  • just listen to that bend at 1:06. I could listen to that while diving in a pool some 10 miles away from the studio and still recognise it as Brian May's.

  • I'm sorry but why argue over the fact that Freddie was Bi? No-one cared because it was him and only him. It was his life so he could do whatever he wanted with it. If he was Gay or Bi, it doesn't fucking matter. He was and always will be a legend.

  • I wish I was in that room, watching them perform!

  • I can hear Freddie singing.

  • When Roger does his licks and fills it looks as if he's afraid of his drums!

  • That drum kit sound love the kick drum sounds low tuned.

  • man,what a sound...great old overdrive of Vox amps...clear and agressive...

  • bo rap recored in wales ....

  • You know. I used to like - actually love - Queen when I lived in Brazil. Since I moved to England and got to see stuff about Freddie Mercury on TV (this guy is a bit of a legend over here) and see how gay he was, I kinda hate Queen now. This man was such a disgusting faggot that makes me wanna vomit everytime I listen to one single note of his singing. Of course I always knew that he was gay but I didn't realize what gay meant back in Brazil. I feel sorry for May and Taylor cause they are good.

  • @vitormangraviti your post makes me wanna vomit

  • @vitormangraviti I feel sorry for you for being a bigoted moron!

  • @vitormangraviti He was bisexual, not exactly gay, does that make you feel better now you bigot? Not that I care.

  • @DoraTheDino There is no such thing such as bissexualism. You are either a fag or straight. If you are a man and you let a man fuck you up in the arse OR fuck a man up in the arse, you are a fag and that is it. If you are a woman and fuck another woman, you are a lesbo. You simply cannot change that. Bissexualism is something the fags created to be better accepted in normal society. But only fools buy that.

  • @vitormangraviti He had 2 girlfriends and 2 boyfriends. Each for a couple of years. Don't think someone can make that up. If your prejudism is not allowing to see the truth, if your hate is denying you the opportunity to have a more open view, it is just sad mate, pathetic even.

  • @DoraTheDino Yes... It is sad. Being a fag lover like yourself must be very sad. I am sorry for you.

  • @vitormangraviti you just ignored the fact that I mentioned. Why do you allow your prejudism to deny you the opportunity to see the facts? See the facts and take it as it is, don't try to ignore it, don't try to avoid it. And no, I am not gay.

  • @vitormangraviti Your a dickhead

  • @NoelLennonArmstrong I didn't understand. My a dickhead? Or did you mean "you're a dickhead"? Please improve your English. You"re not just a fag. You are an illiterate fag.

  • @vitormangraviti i thought i was quite clear sorry i overestimated your intelligence do you want me to say it again ok YOUR a dickhead

  • @vitormangraviti

UR a fucking bigoted asshole. There is nothing wrong with being gay.

  • @vitormangraviti Why don't you just get outta your closet, now that you know what gay means, and quit whinning live a little girl?

  • This must have sucked to play. I bet they were just thinking about webley.

  • still got it. Missing one thing though john.

  • After I learned their music, it was the only music I listened.

    And still now ofcourse :)

  • John... you should be there too....

  • yep brian may inspired me to play ac30s, one mighty fine amp

  • Happy Birthday Mr. Roger Taylor! Queen's drummer celebrates his 62nd birthday today, have a good one Rog!

  • i love his smile at the very end!! it says "im proud of myself!!" :)

  • It's as simple as this. Unfortunately our dear Freddie died in 1991. Roger and Brian are still very much alive and LOVE their music. I'm sure Freddie would have said to them to carry on either with or without the Queen name. There is still a market for the Queen name and they are just carrying on with it, at least we know it's them when we hear the name Queen, it's their brand name, let them do what they want with it!

  • Roger with those Drums is fucking awsome!!!

  • I'd kill to be at one of their jam sessions...

  • solo falto ese gran bajitas y mas d la mita d esta super banda nuevamente

  • just waiting for freddie to start singing tear it up

  • Theres nothing like playing horribly with your friends. xD

  • I photographed Queen in 1976 in Canada over 2 nights. To see the shots go to ianmarkmusicphotos (.com)

  • tear it up; great song

  • queen is with me for life,,but where's john deacon??you're incomplete..

  • QUEENROCKS!

  • Brian and Roger like I've said before are my heroes for never letting this awesome music die, even with Freddie gone. I would do anything to just meet them even if it's only once in my lifetime.

  • i would give an arm and leg to jam with those two. one day!!!!!! you wait and see

  • el mejor bateria junto al mejor guitarrista

  • listen to the sound of that original Ludwig kit, just top drawer

  • oh my gooooood!that wall of vox amps!and that sound!

  • BRIAN MAY ATE MY GF's BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • its always the main person of a band that dies Jimi handrix dies, Freddie dies, John Lennon dies, its all ways the main person

  • For some reason I expected Freddie to com in with that powerful voice and sing " We're gonna tear it up"!!!! :(.

    RIP

  • I find it sad to watch.....as much as they are trying to enjoy this...there is the essence of Freddie that is missing and I know Brian and Roger would love to have him there jamming with them. This band was at the height of its career when they lost their beloved lead vocalist and I'm sure they have some unfinished business as far as music is concerned. Freddie and Queen had a lot more music in them to give to the world, and I salute both Roger and Brian for keeping the dream alive!

  • They arenot trying to replace Freddie they are still playing as Freddie said them to do before he died!

  • It would still be nice to have John Deacon play with the guys again. His unique classical bass style was as big a part of Queen as any of the other 3 in the band and he has always been extremely underrated. C'mon John, get back in there and jam with these guys!

  • it makes me laugh what he does on 0:36

  • oldd man still got it

  • Roger Taylor could fall on his drum kit and it would sound fantastic - what a drummer.

  • I like! :D i love bri and rog! <3 ^^

  • So out of order to claim Q+PR was a tribute band. Ignorant bastards who know nothing about music, and certainly never bothered to see them live. Probably just watched the Bohemian Rhapsody 2005 video and got all hot and bothered.

  • @lucrativeelfmongrel

It's all about opinion though isn't it?

Although I didn't go to see Queen +Rogers (Fuck that) I know lots of people who did.

Most of my friends were not impressed.

The vibe I got was it's like a new Star Wars movie. You know it's gonna be shite, but you watch it anyway.

Yes, tribute band, featuring two former members, Paul Rogers, and some bass player who never seems to get mentioned.

    Deacon's dignity FTW

  • The thing I love about playing Queen songs on the drums is that they're very technical and yet at the same time it doesn't take any more than a year of playing before you can play most of them. Taylor was one of the best drummers of all time in that he played songs that people could learn easily, but that weren't something a five year old could learn.

  • look at all those ac30's!!!!

  • Maybe they are just continuing because of their love of music...

  • @rhyskibble

Continue by all means, just not as Queen.

    Queen is finished, deal.

  • @glenclosed Ok fair enough, They definately shouldn't have called themselves queen and paul rodgers. But i'm glad they did it because I got the chance to see them live which was magical :) But yeah i totally agree that there is continiuing and there is continuing. I think they should just do one off gigs for things like live aid but never ever reducing themselves to the level of the x factor.

  • I wish May & Taylor would just piss off.

John is the only member who still has dignity, the others are destroying Queen. I loved Queen once, now I HATE them.

Also, this bullshit of going out as "Queen featuring Paul Rogers" pisses me right off. What about the fucking bass player? Why isn't he "Featured" too?

Not that I blame him, or Rogers for taking the gig...

  • @glenclosed so you think Brian may and roger Taylor should just give up because Freddy passed away?

that would be like saying may and Taylor had no musical talent without Freddy and that in its self is an insult

roger Taylor and Brian may are some of most legendary musicians around, to say otherwise is ludicrous

  • @kaleluk31

No I don't think Brian and Roger should quit, i know they are legendary and all, I just think they should stop ruining the Queen name, and rep. Although to be honest they already have for me.

    Queen+Wycliiffe Jean?

    Queen+Five? Come on....

By the way Freddie is dead of course but John Deacon has had no more to do with queen ever since so Queen are in effect down two members.

I reckon John Deacon shakes his head sadly like I do over "queen's" sorry antics.

  • @kaleluk31

Dont get me wrong Im not a fan of either, but at least Elton john and george michael are talented.

But theres no way John & Freddie would have anything to do with Wycliffe jean or five, or the Fuckin xfactor.

I bet May and Taylor wanted to colloberate with Vanilla Ice until Deaky and Freddie stepped in. May & Taylor would play with anybody if they thought it would boost their egos, who's next, Jedward?

Dont forget they wanted to get Robbie Williams into Queen.

    What wankers they are

  • @glenclosed Way off...

  • @lucrativeelfmongrel

What are you expecting it to sound like you jack off?? Its called JAMMING...they arent puting on a concert. Idiot...

  • @Robertg71 What's that about?

  • @kaleluk31 Well said!

  • @glenclosed i agreed with Robin360 comment 100%, and btw they didnt play with wycliff jean, he sampled one of there songs but atually got permission unlike vinnilla ice.

and yes they played with that band Five but they are just bringing Queen in to the mainstream and like i said before you have to like queen with the good and bad, if you dont then you where never a true fan in my opinion

  • @kaleluk31

As I said before, I WAS a Queen fan. Not now though.

Well maybe I still am, if you don't consider this half-ass tribute band to actually BE queen. Queen with Freddie Deakey brian and Roger rocked, but that was back in the day

  • @glenclosed half ass tribute band??? how can they be a tribute band???

i think nothing more has to be said, i still stand by the fact that if you cant take queen with the good and the bad then you are not a true fan.

in your mind it seems anything less then when freddie was alive , just isnt queen and i and many other wqould very much disagree on that

  • imagine if freddie wass in there, jamming oh fuck it will be a great jamming yeah

  • @r6ob7

    Forgetting about somebody?

  • @glenclosed fucking sorry , i say John playing the bass n' Freddie playin the piano

  • @r6ob7

    That's better.

  • Brian sounds like he's ALMOST mastered that tab! Go Bri!

  • @bijeleudovice2 They were doing that always and I am very happy that they are still doing it.

Let these young and unaware kids know who Queen are and what Rock is.

You should be thankful that they are going on.

    John pls come back!

  • ok boys time to get that classic sound out on the road god i miss you guys!!!

  • GREAT ! ! !

  • the red special is unique

  • @Xcorgi Wow...OK... if John doesn't want to come back that's his decision and that should be respected just as much, if not, more, than Brian and Roger's decision to continue. There is nothing 'pathetic', 'cowardly' or 'selfish' about wanting to spend time with his family (probably having missed some fundamental moments what with spending 20 years either in a studio or on the road) or maintaining that Queen is no longer Queen without Freddie (the band's USP, let's be honest).

  • @musicsnobtobe His kids have grown up and left home about 20yrs ago. That lame ass excuse for being there for the kids has worn pretty thin as well. It's utter crap!

  • GOTTA LOVE BRIAN :d <3

  • sad,,the lot of ya,

  • hello, i saw queen with paul rogersb and it was great, i mean not just because it was the remainder of queen, but think about how great paul is in his own right, and dont forget that he was one of freddy's favourite rockers

  • oooooh was that a sly call out to John Deacon???.... something like "yeah its a shame without the bass yeaah",,,,,

Come Onnnn Deacon.... get back with the bois... u must be minted rich with all them royalties coming thru your post from all them Songs they play on the radio nowadays that you have written... AND U JUST SITTIN NOT DOIN ANYTHING TO GIVE IT BACK TO THE FANS AND LISTENERS... at least Brian & Roger are working for their respected royalties that they still continually receivin..

  • hmmmh.... I think yes, freddie's death affect the whole band.... But it's because freddie is the part of the band's soul. They would also be greatly affected if Roger with his high pitched voice and heavenly drumming wasnt there... or if May's baritone voice and his brilliant guitar skills wasnt there.... Or when john depart from the bad. Unlike many bands, the members of Queen are irreplaceable, and even thought that's a big weakness for them, but it's also what make people love them dearly. :D

  • Tear it up fellas!

  • agreed

  • @STEVEFINNERTY BOOOOO

  • @STEVEFINNERTY

What a tool. They are PRACTICING you clown. It isn't supposed to sound spot on.

  • @Robertg71

hey you little cunt , il practice on your fucking mama , ,, i got your address here 'tool'.

  • @STEVEFINNERTY

Bring it on you fucken tool...see how far you make it past my front door...just dont expect to be going home without the assistance of the mortician...

  • @STEVEFINNERTY Actually this was just for a little documentary they did. Which they decided to go in the studio for a quick half hour jam. Im quite suprised anyone would be sad enough start reviewing this performance. Its just a JAM.

  • @STEVEFINNERTY fuck you

  • AND DRAGON ATTACK !!

    GENIAL !

  • Queen is beautiful.. End of ;-)

  • my friends just went from canada to london and they ran it to brian may at a restaurant, i am not wicked jealous..

  • The most talented guitarist and drummer EVER ! Love them..thanks for posting this...really cool! :D

  • Comment removed

  • I would LOVE them to release some long recordings of Queen jamming in the studios and at practice places back in the 70's and 80's- it would be epic.

  • U2 sucks compered to queen, queen made my life worth living since i discovered them at the age of 9.

  • I wholeheartedly agree!

  • I could watch 20 hours these guys fucking around in the studio. They're. Fucking brilliant!

  • maybe but u2 really brought that beautiful flowing melody into the mix of music. I love the delay they use! So Im still for u2 but its all personal prefrance :)

  • queen own u2 in EVERY WAY

  • 0:37 - LOL

  • never heard two musicians gel so well together

  • if freddie was still here music would be in a much better way

look at the dross they produce now

supposedly muse are the new queen

    LOL

that has to be a joke

not in the same league , baby

  • Well, Brian May seems to think they are. I put more value into his opinion than some random guy on the internet's.

    Just sayin....

And muse are pretty damn awesome

  • according to another random internet dork

so some warbling turd playing queen riff rip offs is your idea of originality ?

queen were arguably the last truly great rock band

what has there been since ??

can muse play live like queen did at the bowl or live aid ??

    i think NOT

i saw them on Jonathan Toss - they were bloody awful

  • night at the opera

  • do you ever think Brian May ever sits down and thinks, 'holy shit, i'm brian may?' lol likewise for roger taylor? These 2 guys are unbelievable, just a shame John isn't there & a big shame that Freddie isn't there either. If History hadn't of gone the way it did, just imagine where Queen would be?

  • me encanta la tranquilidad q tiene bri para tocar la guitarra muy apoyado en la puerta y tocando de 10!!!!!

  • Best friends playing together in the band they love! amazing :D

  • wow! the drums!

  • Roger and Brian have still got it oh and the Looks too - Rock Neville Bardoli

p.s. Did you pick up on Brians comment " Note without the bass yeh " - could he be speaking in terms od John Deacon aka Deaky ?

  • Comment removed

  • Anybody know what programme this was?

  • @TroyDouglas917 it was a bbc special in 2006, A Night At The Opera 30th anniversary, if i'm not mistaking...

  • This proves that they are the masters, even decades later. And I LOVE the fact that they did "Tear It Up;" that's one of my "scream and break things" songs.

  • Tear it up, Dragon attack...wow...wish I was there...

  • LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!!!! <3 <3

  • I love Brian and Red Special ;*

  • go brian may #1 guitarist

  • see old people can still rock!........no im srry, roger and brian no hard feelins

  • roger taylor still looks cool!

  • Grandi!!

  • I love Roger's tiny little grin at 0.27!

    These guys just rock!

  • this guitar is amazing i´m on to build my own

  • I love that red special :D

  • So cool. 8-)

  • if its makes you one of the best drummers in the world and a legend as well! so why not hold then like that?????

  • Why does he hold his drumstick the other way?

  • It's a stick right? So one can use both edges. :) Look for some drums solos on the Tube and will see what I mean. ;)

  • OK. I saw him live last year and he held his drumsticks that way most of the time... maybe he just think it sounds better. I have tried but I think it's more difficult.

  • Oh, well. Maybe it's a habbit. :P I think it makes different sound, since the end he uses is thicker than the other...Dunno.

  • I asked a drummer who did the same thing. It's to put more power into the hand that's more weaken. E.g. if you drum the beat with your left hand, you hold the stick in that hand the other way....

  • Alright, thanks :)

  • that room is so empty... :_(

  • You know, I really don't agree with this. Freddie wasn't the only member of the band though. I think it's quite unfair to say Queen is dead without Freddie.

I understand what you mean though, Brian and Roger weren't trying to REPLACE Freddie - come on, could anybody replace him? They were just trying to bring the music of Queen back to the mainstream and tell people that their music isn't going anywhere.

I love Queen FOREVER! Queen's music is going to last FOREVER and that's that!

    !!

  • It is so good to read an intellignt comment once in a while here, you are so right.

    May Freddie be with you!
