Good point. Like other species, there are differences among them. The box jelly fish is more poisonous than nay snake and will kill, virtually, on the spot. I think it is located around New Zealand.
There are jelly fish here that can seriously inflict pain and sometimes the Portuguese Man-Of-War is here and it is dangerous. But the one I filmed can be touched and while I think its tentacles can sting, but not badly. But you can definitely touch them on their heads. I did.
