About your third question the first soul calibur series (Soul blade aka Soul edge in japan) focuses on the tale of the cursed sword "soul edge" while the rest of the series is on the spirit sword "Soul calibur"; in other words the series reflect on the battle of good and evil between the two swords. hope I satisfied your question.

No I'm not sure why the reasons for this are but it's always been spelled "Virtua" which is why some people hate it when they call it "Virtual Fighter"

Dead or alive was named that because it was created during Tecmo's darkest hour. Tecmo pinned their hopes on this game that would decide the fate of their company at that time; hence "Dead or alive" get it? BTW this was said by Tomonobu Itagaki himself.

"Tekken" literally means "Iron fist" in Japanese from two words "tek" implies iron and "ken" means fist.
