One of my spanish coworkers said that her grandmother used to curl her hair like this but with strips of cloth and beer as a setting lotion. And that back then to dye or highlight their hair with blond highlights they soaked their hair in horse urine, and it worked good.

Try 'Rag's for a more defined ringlet/curl! They're amazing, all you have to do is cut a pillow case up into strips and wind into your hair! works on long or short hair and you can brush them out for beach waves or leave it in ringlets/curl. alot more comfertable than socks i'm guessing too!!! x

You can do that with rags. It's like the oldest method of curling since forever. I had my hair done 26 years ago for my communion with rags. Just cut up an old pillowcase or sheet. I still swear by curling with my flat iron though. It's much quicker.

You can save socks by using strips of old t-shirts. Simply cut old t-shirts into strips then tie them as you would the socks. they are called "rag rolls" and to show you how long this has been done, It's how Shirley temple's mom did her hair. use about 30 on your head at a time. (and they aren't so bulky to sleep on) God bless you.

that actually turned out better then what i was thinking it was gonna be.. like there were straight up curls..i thought I'd be more of a wavy type curl.. i guess that was after separating them a bit .. brilliant... should give that a go sometime.. I spent 3-4 hours with little rubber bands & a curling iron.. never again!!!!! they were very very small strands.. looked awesome tho.. but dang did my arms and head hurt :( this is helpful! a friend of mine used plastic bags ... it was awesome!
