Very nice filming. I wish you could have somehow included your conversations/instructions with your instructor. I sure love the sound of that big radial engine!
I sure did, like every Canadian kid, I started out young and never looked back. The only advice I can give you is don't give up,keep bugging operators till they hire, you never know. Good hands and feet and some good ol common sense and you will go along way in this business. I have been reading your blog and sounds like you have a plan. Good luck in your travels.
80 mph is an all around number to use for take off or landing. Obviously you can get 70 or lower on landing. I have over 22 years flying beav's and enjoyed every day. I'll also say that each pilot will fly the A/C that fits his/hers own abilities.
@TheBeaver1967 OH the Beaver fits my abilities just perfect. I love to fly her.
22 years, wow, that's quite some time. Did you fly them commercially? What exactly are the companies looking for when hireing a new pilot? do you have any tips?
Hey buddy ,how about letting the kid run the throttles/props, its all part of the learning. 80 mph is the magic number for the -2 follow that and you can't go wrong.
@TheBeaver1967 well, the "kid" was actually me. I was a bit hesitant on the throttle because I didn't want to overboost the eninge. Guess I was a bit too hesitant fo his liking, so he intervened.

@chinaclipper1 thanks. Yeah, I don't have any recording device that I could hook up to the Intercom. Should probably get some recorder eventually.

@TheBeaver1967 or do you mean the first approach and landing? He was demonstrating how to land it, because I haven't had landed a Beaver before.
