  • Hey, love the exhaust. I own 2 rps13's. One built SR topmount GT35 dyno'd 510 and the other a stock KA24DE. KA's are great for either gettin groceries or making gobbs of power at the track(but not for long). But the second you blow it, dish out another $150 and your ready for track day. Don't waste your money building with forged internals on a KA. If you have the money go reliable and build a best of both worlds SR. or just LS1 :] Check my pics on zilvia, BlacknboostedS13

  • wow`got a lil tex battle here eh anyway love the vid have a similar 240 eats oil at 160k and decided to go ka-t love the sr20 but my last one threw a rod in a race with a s14 with a ka24 remember guys its just a video and if you guys are never going to race at the strip or settle it on some back road you might as well be driveing your moms minivan so keep it clean

Love the KA bashing..I have owned both SR and KA 240s..And I will tell you this,Anyone,,,and I mean anyone that sits there ripping on KAs should just give up on life and watch fast and furious another 10000 times.lol You want to talk best bang for your buck?lolHow about a KAT with a pieced together turbo kit running 12lbs of boost for over 4 years as a DD and a track day car? 310hp at the wheels 296lbs of tq..I beat the hell out of it and it walks on STOCK SR motors all day long.

    Only thing I ever had to do was a head gasket after the junk paper one blew out..

    10:1CR ,twinscroll T3 mani,GT30 twinscroll turbo,deep fmic retro fitted off a 2jz,all hand bent tubing,44mm wastegate,3inch down pipe to test to 3inch to tip,flashed ,greddy type2 timer etc etc..3 quarters of the parts were out of local junk yards and from friends that had um laying around.

  • Damn so many h8rs on the KA, ive smoked a sr20 Sentra in my altima before, and anyone that says the automatic is gay well if you do the drop resistor mod your auto will curp hitting 2nd.

  • hey man swap that engine for a sr20. the KA are slow as balls unless you turbo it. but even still the sr20 are still much better.

  • @pFbSpecV I'll eat a brick the day a KA weighs 1500 lbs more than an sr20. And what the fuck planet are you from where a Ka24DE is a single cam? RB25's are way more worth the value than an sr20, not to mention they aren't that much money to begin with. And, it would take a lot to make a KA as quick as your joke Sentra? God I hope you crash in to a wall doing another one of your, "street races" against that civic. Take it to the track, punk. (If you can call doing the speed limit a street race.)

  • @pFbSpecV im trying to step in this argument or take sides. but the trueth is ka24de is dual cam bro. the single is the ka24e.... hense no 'd ' in the name of the engine. as for weight, the sr20 weighs 305lbs as opposed to the ka which weighs 330lbs. of course this will vary with accessory's and such. ive owned a total of four 240's, one being a sr20. i love these cars =)

  • @pFbSpecV SRs are slow as balls unless they're boosted too...more so than a KA. Also, SRs aren't as special as fanboys make them out to be. RB or VG swap, if not..KA-T.

  • Nice 240 who cares if its auto...most these people dont know that built autos are wayy better for drag racing. Super consistent shifting, easy launching, and very easy spool up.

  • IMO i believe the s13 is better: bigger displacement engine, RWD, and more aftermarket support. The mazda is the complete opposite of that, plus its Front Wheel drive.... thats a no no lol

  • im not sure though if the 323F is RWD. i looked up the specs on a 1.5G ....

  • the tbs did give me a noticeable increase in fuel millage, other then that i didn't feel a difference in power. as with sound, no difference.

  • thanks man. i actually got the car as a hand-me-down for my first car. my parents bought the car brand new off the lot back in 1991. so when it was time to get me a car they gave it to me. i guess i got lucky. it was bone stock when they gave it to me.

  • I got mine for 1400 about 4 months ago. Its also my first car. I was looking for a 240 for a while and finally found one in good shape. Most of them around my area have had the shit beat out of them. It was some lady's car that she bought new and only drove it 5 miles to work and back everyday and was garage kept, with only like 120,000 miles and needed no work. I feel like I stole it for 1400.

  • thats a steal. that lady didnt know what kind of car she had. ive been driving this one for 7 years now. i have 5spd hatch, its sohc but pulls harder than this 91 dohc, prob cuz of the tranny. ....new vid comin soon of the 5spd

  • i hav 99 altima ..im gna b puttin on headers and exhaust..stock cat converter...should this be some thing similar to what my car would sound like..since these cars both have a ka24de

  • even though they are the same motor these two engines are tuned differently. my timing and 91 cams change the note motor gives out. other than that it should sound similar; esp if u get the same diameter cat-back and headers

  • nice nice :P hopefully soon i'll be boostin my KA!! woot! so how's the crank pulley? what brand and how long have ya been running it? Are you still gonna use it when turbo, i've been hearing good and bad about'em and i need to replace the front seal anyways haha

  • the crank pulley is Ralco RZ. they stopped making the unorthodox so i settled with ralco. to tell the truth i didn't notice any difference, most likely a result of the auto tranny. 5speed is sure to see improvement. i have nothing bad to say about the pulley. been running it for 7months, and yes il still use it when i boost

  • What is luciano7 talking about!?!?! Of course you can tell it has an auto transmission. A 240 is all about feeling what you drive. Thats what makes them so great!!! 5-speed is the only way to go! I'm not knocking on your car, just your tranny.

  • my other 240 has a 5speed and yes it does pull a lot harder. but this one is alot more comfortable....im getting old! lol

  • Yeah nice vids, that's more abuse than i would ever put on it. But i have heard of the ka's developing rod knock and other problems above 150k miles
