How did u get this on Pc? I am currently playing a Shogi Trial on Xbox, and since my tv sucks, then I can't see diffrence between the pieces. So is there a way to get it in Norway? Or on the net somewhere? I have googled far and wide without any results. Thanks in advance, Ishida attack is now my favorite, great tutorial :)
At 01:41 you defend with G3h but is it not better to play S2h? cause G3h makes a wall and S2h is atleast a move towards peerless golds. I have also seen S3h in that position in one of your pro games. which is the best move? /barbapappa
@robotnik14 S-2h wall is even worse than G-3h wall. And Peerless Golds isn't suitable when playing against static rook. After G-3h, you can play K-4i, S-4h, K-3i, K-2h, for example.
However, S-3h is thought to be the strongest move. It maintains the possibility of Mino castle. But its problem is that white can aim for another bishop exchange and drop B*2h.
is that black position not so good all the time? black not even moving the silvers and golds forward. only move the rook and bishop, which sides position is better if white reject the exchange of bishop by pawn 4d?
Black won't be in a good position in this line (P-7d), if white replied properly. So basically we don't use this attack in a game. This Jouseki line is just a trap.
1. Material balance is gonna be good for black, since you've only lost a Rook and you're gonna take all the Silver, Knight and Lance.
2. You're Horse are so powerful here and influencing a lot to all over the board, while white doesn't have any effective way to use his Rook in his hand. He can't drop it to anywhere in black's camp.
Excellent! I look forward to future videos that show some of the variant lines, that you mentioned you'd look at another time!
Since learning about Ishida Quick attack (from a book ages ago), it has become one of my favourite attacks. Hopefully with your tutorials I will be able to make it work better for me :)
nice video, i tried to use this opening today after watching the video in the meijin sen but the opponent simply closed the diagonal of the bishop and i lost:S
The moves went by really fast and I didn't have enough time to really get a grasp of what every move and every counter move meant. I found myself pausing the video and just thinking about the moves... but that is fine because I want you to fit as much content into each of your videos. Maybe it seems like it's going too fast for me at first, but I'll get better. It also surprised me how fast it turned into the endgame. Once again, thank you for the lessons and I look forward to your next video.

When playing chess or shogi, one should actually work out every possible move like you do in this video, right? But i'm too lazy D:

what is a bookline? and what is a line?
vinniram 2 years ago
I'm not sure they're correct words in English.
But I meant "move sequence" by "line", and I meant "jouseki line" by "book line".
HIDETCHI 2 years ago
@HIDETCHI Yes, that is what "line" means in chess as well. Just a sequence of moves.

how come they're not making any castles? is it standard to not make a castle straight away?
vinniram 2 years ago
The name of the strategy answers to that question. It's a "quick attack" strategy.

why at 6:00 is better for black?
adrianwoo 2 years ago
There are two reasons for that.
