the key is the heart and the fruits that follow. the ones who confess him to be lord but are turned away are turned away because they didnt obey the will of the father. now this isnt saying were saved by following Gods will. its saying that the true confession of faith brings forth the spirit of God which helps the believer become more conformed to Christlikeness and the will of God whereas the false professor doesnt change. so the key here is to believe in the heart, in addition to the mouth.

believe in living righteously. dont put the carton before the horse. faith alone saves. washer himself says this. and it can absolutely start witha confession of the mouth and often does. however. we also know that some who say lord lord, get turned away. this is just basic bible interpretation. some people who confess are saved. and some arent. there are verses that show both. so you need to find out how to remedy this. because there are no contradictions.

this is pretty simple. that first verse. i see no contradiction between this preacher u speak of and his interpretation. with your heart you believe unto righteosness. logically, where as before you believed unto unrighteousness right? so you were unrighteous. but if your heart is now leaving it belief in unrighteousness and casting that belief upon Christ and righteousness, you become righteous. how could someone say "i believe in living righteously" but live like a pagan. well they dont really

To answer ur question, what must a man do to be saved. The msg of the bible First, the Father must draw the person to Christ (john 6:44), then they confess/believe unto salvation (Rom. 10:9-10), They become new creatures, dead to sin, alive to righteousness which is shown by their deeds which dont save them but evidences that they're saved (2 Cor. 5:17, ). The bible says make ur call & election sure 2 peter 1:3-11 Read Rom. 8-9, & 11 for biblical calvanism. Check out Mark Driscoll, gr8 teacher

To sum up Mr. Washer's theme it would probally be that "if you're saved, the evidence of ur conversion will be prevelant by a lifestyle that glorifies God". It's true. Remember in scripture Jesus said not all who say Lord, Lord will inherit heaven. Also note the garden, Jesus prays 4 "those the father had given him" not for the world at large.

In short, John 6:44 explains what must 1ST take place, even b4 confession for sum1 to be saved.

I believe There are many positive points in Paul Washer´s preachings. He will discover that he is not a Calvinist. I believe that, the question is not if Calvinists are Christian. Because even between the apostles there were divergences , like Ap. Paul and Ap. Peter about circumcision . I think Paul washer is trying to wake up old Reformers about being saved and not producing fruits. He is a man of God. I´m against calvinism, but I believe we can not say they´re not Christians.

The problem with all calvinists is that the stop reading Romans in Chapter 9 . if read it till 11 , at least, the will realize that Paul is tracing an full argument that everyone was turned into sin to be Justified. Because if was not this way , we would have to believe that Jews don´t need to accept Jesus to be Saved, as we can understand in Chap.8. Paul was leading people in a logic thought about equality between men.

Jean Guyon was called to leave the Catholic Church. But she was a young woman still bound to Catholicism. But she was a true Christian. She brought many people in trapped in Catholicism to real relationship with Christ.

But I think her daughter would break from a Catholicism alter. She did not speak of her daughter as a Catholic. She seemed to separate her. Madame Guyon was not a mystic either. Her "quietness was being still and dying to self.

There can be a mental assent to the gospel. The Bible says you must be born again. It is the Holy Sprit that draws you. I am not a calvinist, but the calvinists I know personally are very humble and have a heart for evangelisim. Paul Washer with the help of God's spirit has helped a lot of people to examine themselves to see if their lives reflect what they have professed in a prayer.The Holy Spirit initiates salvation.

I'm a calvinist. What our minister has told us is that tPaul, who wrote on predestination was very active in spreading the gospel. He didn't wait for the elect to be saved. This verse is one I've found helpful in saying that while faith is needed (and hearing of the word), that faith is a gift of God.

Eph 2:8 for by grace have ye been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;

Oh, and the problem is not prayer. It is believing that a prayer said in some mechanical fashion with no true Gospel preached and a life lived just like a sinner with no fruit that is the problem. I have prayed with people who were under conviction of sin after hearing the full Gospel preached and years on, these people are still loving the Lord.

Praying a prayer will not save, so let us preach the Gospel and call men to repent from their hearts unto God. True Gospel work for the Lord =)

No, Washer notes that Romans 10 is in the context of persecution. Personally I disagree with him on this point, but we should not misrepresent people.

In response to your question, to be saved, one must repent from their sins - ALL OF THEM - and believe in the atoning work of Jesus Christ for their sins. This person will then be saved from their sins, filled with God's Spirit and eternally secure with the witness of God's Spirit (Mk 1:15, Luke 24:47, Romans 8:14, John 10:28-30, Eph 4:30)

I would tell them to ask God to reveal himself to them. To read the bible and seek his salvation through Jesus Christ. To call on his name, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" Romans 10:13 I agree with you.

Yeah, I agree...It is my biblical responsibility to tell them to turn from their sins. And if they become truly saved, they should turn from all sin. But it doesn't always work out like that...conviction of sin is brought by the Holy Spirit. When I was saved, noone told me that I should repent...It was just a moment when I realized that Jesus Christ was the Lord. deal with certain people. I believe Calvinists are preaching another Jesus and in some cases the sinner's prayer does lead to false conversion as does hell fire preaching. There is no perfect formula, just preach by the Holy Spirit out of love and God will give the increase. Let me leave you with this question and a verse (read KJV), Do you know of any man that has the complete revelation of God? Can you explain this scripture to me, 1 Timothy 3:15? Keep pressing.
