My dad owns a Goffin Cockatoo, (we dont know if its a boy or girl) and he (or she) is very VERY loud. (we call it a he, and "his" name is Thor) he also cant fly. he got his wings clipped about 6 yrs ago, and he had a hard time recovering, and then he forgot how to fly. Precious is adorable:]

You notice that videos of talking goffins is all but non-existent? Do they not typically talk? My tika says a couple words, but man they are more clear than an Amazon. She sounds just like me. given that, I can't believe she will only say two words. Such a tease and a bummer.
Goffins are better known for their big personalities than their talking ability; she certainly is a sweet girl with a comic streak and a love of attention. I know that Goffins are the smallest cockatoo species, and the bigger the species, the better talker. As for Precious, she has a few other words in her vocabulary (like "hey Precious," "hey there," "pretty bird") but mostly she mimicks, especially laughs and kisses. =)
@ELSayles My goffin girl laughs too... it was the first thing she learned! Everyone can tell when she laughs. However I'm the only one who can tell what she's saying, when she talks. Maybe that's because she's imitating me.

She also blows kisses, sneezes, and laughs; occasionally she's mimicked our budgies' calls, too. "Happy Birthday!" and "hey there birthday bird" are her default phrases and she is definitely milking it. When she gets sleepy she generally just wants to talk about her birthday! =)
I forgot to mention she used to say "who's the birthday boy?" Her previous owner thought she was a boy and when we had her DNA sexed, we had to teach her to say "birthday bird" instead. =)
