out of all the videos i've seen everyone lands on their butt, my coaches told me to land on my feet which is better? and is there a way to keep yur back from hurting as bad after yu land?
height is a huge factor especially for someone who is tall and uses the hang technique,im 16 yo 5'11" and i was working on staying tall and long for as long as possible with my dad landing standing straight up at the end with no bend in the body emphasizing the staying tall part and i jumped 17' my pb is 18' without doing that so it really helps, if i had pulled my legs up for the landing i would have had a 19 - 20+ ft. jump because my legs are over 3 feet long, so being tall is an advantage
yes, height can help a jumper in the long run. longer arms and legs can help with a better stretch when landing. i am 6'3 and iv had a great season. but i have been beat by someone who is only 5'6. all in all, long jump requires speed, balance, and overall technique. if you do not have all three of these attriubutes then long jump is not for you. all i can say is work on 3 of these things and who will be winning competitions in no time.
tisk tisk tisk... along with speed and jumping ability, height plays a major role. if you dont jump up, you wont travel far, you'll just go straight into the pit
height has something to do with long jump. Check the internet if you don believe me. speed and jumping ability is another point. If you have speed and jumping ability, and you are taller than your opponent, you have extra advantages.
Make up your fucking mind before posting up bullshit results please.

hey, stop saying how much you jump, if you really want to improve the others, put a video on it !
@video: really good technique, make more height, and you jump 1/2 meter better

i meant a persons physical height, you dont need to be tall to jump far.
paulfou27 2 years ago
lol ok
dirtbikefreak942 2 years ago
The taller you are the better reach you have at the finish because of leg length. If you're tall you have to be able to know how to use your height.

height is an advantage only.
