I went to a buddy's house with a bunch of friends, got drunk, and we all shot off lots of fireworks at midnight. We then proceeded to indulge in a bit of idiocy in the middle of the street (a very busy one, might I add). Nothing too crazy, no one got hurt, just a good time. Hope everyone else had a happy new year!
I'm in a tiny medieval town in Germany, and the locals go frickin insane with the amateur fireworks. They shoot them across the market square at each other, and I ain't talkin bout no little crackers here - nosiree Bob. These are the big sky rockets. When they go off at your feet, it completely sucks. I swear I saw a woman catch fire the first year I was here.
There comes a point at which you go "Whelp, that's enough explosive danger for this year" and just go hide somewhere safe.
I didn't go too insane; just invited a friend over, ordered pizza, drained a few beers, watched the big ball drop in New York, caught some of the Twilight Zone marathon on Sci-Fi and watched Police Academy and The Blues Brothers. Thankfully, no arrests were made:)
Happy New Year...I had a rather unusual new year's eve having two flat tires on my truck in the middle of the desert. :) it was quite an adventure...who needs fireworks and partying anyway?
