If you're looking for maximum time efficiency, it's important to note that you can stagger both legs while in Tri-Disaster and then have Fang Highwind them one right after another. Also, Hope is a poor choice for a Rav in this scenario since his casting time is horribly slow when compared to some others (namely Light and and Snow). Fang in Rav is better off spamming Lightning for its instant cast speed (similar to Ruin) rather than auto-chain. At this point, Fang/Light/Snow is the way to go.

I managed to do this without (!) maxed out Crystarium (main roles of everyone at 5, additional one at 5 and the others at 1-3) thanks to your strategy! My Fang only has STR 2350, but with Bravera, she usually still takes down the leg with Highwind in one hit. Instead of many boosting accessoires, I equipped Gaian Rings* and things that give resistance against Physical attack, so even my not-maxed out party is standing up to the beast. Thanks a lot for the help. =)

@1just12comment you can upgrade any tier 2 weapon and you'll get the same ultimate weapon (I don't remember the name, google it if you want), the only difference will be that the ultimate weapon will have its previous tier 2 as a basis for its stats and abilities.

@Pro86fan That was one of the worst ideas in FFXIII, can't believe they fucking did that, I enjoy a large variety of weapon designs and to have all available weapons fully upgraded to all look the same. Would of been amazing if each of the 8 different weapons have 8 different designs for ultimate version.

@TheeFreakiishlyz (I am pro86fan, just my other account) For me that was fine, what is pissing me off is that my characters are all fully upgraded in crystarium but I still have to keep killing adamantoises /adamantortoises to gain money, to upgrade my weapons and stuff, and that is a pain in the ass. I liked when we received money each battle, not just selling stuff. Apart from that, a great game, but to receive the platinum trophy we must kill the same enemies over and over and over. that sukz

@Waveking95 yes that is correct. one piece of advice: don't try this method of this video yet. if you wanna take down adamantortoises, use vannille spell death along with summon. And also master your main roles before leveling up the other ones. every character has an unique ability, just keep expanding =)

@AshAsmodeus it doesnt work all the time since it depends on luck, and when u wanna farm lots of these oversized turtles for a trapezohedron, you will need to kill a larger sample size of them in a certain period of time to see a better drop rate.

I have my characters almost maxed, great gear, and tried every combination (and I have always been big on Sab and Syn magics) yet I still cannot seem to get these things to die in less than 45-50 minutes. I spent countless hours on these things and still cannot get a single Trapezohedron. In fact I have almost made enough gil doing this to buy one. But I would still like the drop so I don'e waste gil I could use to lvl the weapon.

@danewheeler know how you feel. I had the same trouble trying to get Death to stick to Neochu, for the Growth Egg. I've heard of people getting it in their first 5 or so tries, and that just pisses me off personally, because it took me three days of trying, about 5 hours+ each day, before it struck. Ugh... haha. Never had trouble with getting it to work on these, but eh. Know how you feel, still.

@RandyOrton595 Took me a week to get the growth Egg, and as for farming for rare items,I'm haivng terrible luck, even with the catalouges equipped, I wish there was a way to edit saves, or a cheat device available, I've beaten the game, even gotten a 5 star ranking agaisnt orphan, but trying to earn gil is impossible, thankfully XIII-2 will have monsters that drop gil after battle

@tsuna50 just go to base camp (when on pulse) then take the teleport to orphans crandle and then take another teleport to eden hall.. and then just go back all the level :)

Is there a reason that you have average stat boost accesories on your characters? (not trying to sound like a douche here). I mean with your ability to farm ingots/traps you could easily make enough money to max those wristbands/marks and then evolve them into Kaiser knuckles etc.etc for much more damage. Is there a legitimate reason to keep the accessories low?

I beat him!! and i figured something else out, the Mission 63 Adam staggers at 250% and the ones just walking around in Gran Pulse stagger at 300 and go to 400% so they're easier to kill with this strategy :)

You couldn't be more wrong. There are indeed 48 ultimate weapons. Each character has 8 of them. They are named as such like you said, but for instance, there are 8 DIFFERENT Omega Weapons. Each Omega Weapon has different properties. If you level up an Organyx or Lionheart, or the other 6 options for Lightning, the end result is still an Omega Weapon, but they are all very different. You will need a total of 48 Trapezohedrons.

Easy. Get Lightning's weapon to Tier 2 (there are 8 different possibilities). Max it out, and use a synthesis item called Trapezohedron. It will change your Tier 2 weapon to an Omega Weapon.

For added hilarity, I now have 8 of them (all mastered). I also have the other 40 ultimate weapons for each of the 5 other characters. All fully mastered. My file is now 310 hours. I have 12 of the maximum armours mastered too.

Lets say:Lionheart for an example is level 1.Once you level it up to the max and use a transformation catalyst,it will turn into ultima weapon.Max out ultima weapon and then you will get the option to use trapohezedron,and you get omega weapon.Its exactly the same for every class.

My tactic is almost the same. Start with SYNx3 to buff, RAVx3 to take out a leg, Com/Med/Med to highwind it, repeat for the other leg. SABx3 to debuff the head, RAVx3 to drive up the chain to ~900%..then COM/COM/RAV to finish it off. My party:

Fang/Light/Hope...Fang strength around 3600, Hope magic around 3600, and Light balanced strength/magic around 2400.

Times around 1 min 35 seconds. Only going to get faster, since I still have to get any Kaiser Knuckles or Magistral Crest . :D :D

I thought I was the only person who did it this way :(. You're right, though. It takes it out as fast as 1:35 with the average being 1:40 or so. Awesome strategy. Best way to level up weapons too. I have all 48 ultimate weapons now, but I'm in the process of mastering them all. Takes a while - 36 sturdy bones (to make 3x bonus), then 24 ultracompact reactors (requires 8 platinum ingots) once weapon is in final stage. So I do that 48 times.

@borak85 Um...there are only 6 ULTIMATE weapons. One for each character: Omega Weapon, Save the Queen, Nue, Nirvana, Kain's Lance, and Total Eclipse. Not sure where you're getting the 48 from...
