  • thanks for this! made me inspired again to workout. I stopped cause I was so frustrated I'm not losing much weight. I guess this will really help!   • Can anyone tell me why the heck my knees hurt everday since I started walking on the treadmill? I bought new walking/running shoes because I realized my feet were going inward. But my knees still hurt 1 week and a half into my walking routine! I want to jump rope,but not sure if that will make my knees worse?

  • What;s the incline mean?

  • incline is basically 'ramping it up' so you are walking 'up a hill' it helps legs get stronger and make it harder

  • im a trainer at Golden Gym in LA and walking isnt the best way to go if your gonna try to loose wight if you super overweight then YES start out with 15-30 min walks on highest incline that you can mount, if your about 15-30 pounds overweight then run at your joggin speed (generally: 4.9-6.8) at around 3-7 incline, for about 20 min a day or at least 2 miles and with in 3 weeks you should see the fat melt away

  • Im 25 and pretty overweight. Started going to the gym a month ago. Strength isn't an issue for lifting, but I can't go much more than 15 minutes on the tredmill. My knees are fine, but my shins hurt. Im not partically winded and want to go faster and longer but my shins prevent it. Any special way to step or other exercises one can do if their shins hurt?

  • does your bone hurt?, or your muscle tissue on the leg?, easy fix either way its an easy fix:

    1. man it out and and if it worsens then talk to a doctor otherwise it will get better aw more mitochondria get down there to produce more energy for your shins.

    2. STRETCH STRETCH STRETCH

    3. if seriously you cant handle it then talk to doctor and he will fix you up, or use shin building exorcize machines like steer steppers

  • @narutomagic well I lost 20lbs in a matter of a few months with walking everyday and I was not obese! And why would you tell extremely overweight people to walk at the highest incline they can when you have no idea the medical condition a person may be in? They may over do it thinking it was ok? By the way, it's "LOSE" not

  • @narutomagic I just started. I'm running at 3.5 and I exceed my target heart rate and feel winded. Incline about 4. I'm not over weight and I'm losing weight already. I honestly can't run at 4 or above yet.
