Anyone who is getting a pallet expander..... IT ONLY SUCKS FOR A FEW DAYS!! then you'll go back to regular life so yeah... DO NOT AND WHATEVER YOU DO DO NOT EAT POPCIRN!!!! It get stuck on the sides and it gives u head aches and it hurts!! Buy a water pick.. Your welcome .. I also have one and im about to get mine off.. Anyone know if ut hurts????

It is definitely the worst thing ever,I couldn't eat,sleep(etc.) with it in the roof of my mouth.I especially hated when it had to be tightened! Feel better,trust me I know how you feel!

I'm supposed to get both an expander and braces and my appointment is on saturday. I was just curious, did you get the expander and braces at the same time?i can't tell if you have braces here ahha

@kgriffin1995 no I did not. I had my bottom braces for a while before I got my palette expander .. then once that was in for a while ..got my top braces.

@hula617 I actually had a burger the day after I got it. Honestly, it gets way easier. You get real used to it and eating becomes normal again. Just give it a few days. The only thing that really starts to suck about it is it leaves a mark in your tongue, and it usually hurts just a bit. Other then that, he'll get used to it and it will be off before you know it!

@KayunHayun No, not at all. Don't fret dear. You get really used to it. The talking AND eating both get super easy, it'll be off in no time. Don't you worry. In the meantime just enjoy the fact that you'll have a beautiful smile once it's off : D

Love that expander accent. Had mine for a year and that was fun. There were marks on my tongue and getting stuff stuck up on top was a little drawback. My ortho only let me have my expander after I made my own impressions to show why I needed one. Sometimes I wish that I not let him take it out so soon. The pallet expander probably was the best part. Then while at the harvest crusade I met a girl that had one and we raided stories. Just watching you fills me with envy.

ive had mine, it sucked for the first part but eating got a lot easier i dont no how but it did :D , its been like 4 months since i had it , and i didnt have braces when i got mine so i got a big gap, but now its gone but jus gotta wait till they decide to take it out ! the only hard words i cant pronouce is cute and key ahha and some others but thats the ones i notice the most

yeah the palette expander i got is gonna be on for like 4-5 months, goodluck! hopefully yours not too long. (also for a first 2-3 weeks ull probably feel like throwing up cuz of that thing )
