The premise of this speech is wrong. We don't necessarily ask about the nature of freedom because we feel unfree, and we don't always perceive the nature of our bondage. In fact, people can feel free even while being bound by their perceptions and misconceptions. As Goethe says, "None are so hopelessly enslaved as those who falsely believe they are free."
