Bravo. Wonderful job at this fan-vid. I sat through it with this huge dopey smile on my face. I simply adore seeing IB and CG together. I love Indiscreet as well. :D It's such a delight to see real adults fall in love with each other...and I'm only 24 years old.
This was always in technicolor....it was filmed in technicolor. I love this movie. Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman are wonderful together in "Indiscreet" (1958).
No problem :). Colour started being used in the late 1930s - for example: Gone with the Wind in 1939 was filmed in technicolor, but since it was such an expensive process back then, they kept using black and white too until at least the 50s.
Actually Black and White movies were still common until 1966, the last year Academy Award separated numerous technical awards separately (Colors and B&W), after that filming in black and white are considered for the artistic purpose only.
This is perfect! Kudos for choosing a song that's true to the tone and time setting of the movie (though I'm the one to talk--I put a Nirvana song and "Casablanca" together, but I didn't want to be predictable and use "As Time Goes By"). I loved it and favorited it.
Hey, nothing wrong with strange combinations of movies and songs - right now, I'm working on a vid of Notorious using Amy Winehouse's 'Rehab'... doesn't get much stranger than that ;). Thanks!
I agree... it shld be just movie/dialogue showing this WHOLE scene when she turns, face covered w/cold cream, kleenex box in hand SHOWING closeups of Cary and Ingrid with her facial expression and captivation with the gorgeous, sophisticated man before her (again w/Ingrid in robe, CC covered face) the look in her eyes, it fills mine with tears. DON't make 'em like this anymore. My favorite love scene is Notorious closeups of them, fm shoulders up especially at end and noone takes off a stitch.
@bon1042 I know! Forgive me while I 'squeal'. Nevermind what IG saw, when I saw a close up of CG just smiling sweetly at her when he was just standing in front of the open door like that suddenly my interest shot through the freakin' roof! I watched the movie twice in one night the night I got rented it. I didn't care that it was pushing 2 in the morning the second time around. These two ignited the screen with their awesomeness and their chemistry. Simply wonderful!
Awesome job putting this together! Great scenes! Perfect timing on Cary's face bouncing back and forth in the Highland Dance. I love Ingrid and Cary together! Thanks!
You totally should, it's one of my favourite Ingrid movies.... not quite of the calibre of "Notorious" but just very sweet and lovely and cute and pretty. She also has these great lines like "How DARE he make love to me and not be a married man?" :D.
It's great to finally see Ingrid Bergman in a comedy. So what if the plot is nonexistant and it's basically an excuse for Cary and Ingrid to prance around in Europe in fancy clothes (not to mention TechniColor)? If you're gonna do it, you'd better get Cary and Ingrid, and they make this movie so watchable and enjoyable.
omg this is like sooo awesome, haha the song really makes it!! I have to say my fav part of this movie is when Cary Grant is dancing and I looove Ingrid and Cary's chemistry:)

Anybody else notice that this is NOT Franl Sinatra's original, but Tony Bennett trying to imitate him? Not half bad, but it ain't Frank!
loujudson 10 months ago
@loujudson It is certainly not Tony Bennett nor Sinatra.

I'm not anti-strange combos of song and movie, but modern songs and old movies very rarely work well together--I can only hope that mine did.
