my babysitter's son has this game and played it for hours. the basketball player images got burned into the TV screen, and remained there. you could still see them all over the screen when trying to watch regular TV.
LOL...I was undefeated in this game for years until one night my figure figured out how to beat me. Being 7 years old of course I had a fit and didn t talk to him the rest of the night while he sat there smirking in triumph.
This is not 130XE, but XE Game System, and this game is indeed the 1979 Atari Basketball released for Atari 8-bit (then current 400/800), the XL and XE series are just newer models of Atari 8-bit computer line, they are compatible, this game was not released as an XE exclusive, it is just played on a newer computer, like if you play an XT game on a 386.
It might also be the first representation of a black person in a video game? You can't really see it in my video, but the computer player is shown with brown skin. If you play doubles, each team gets one white guy and one black guy.
its amazing how far games have come

Wow, I've had this game for months and never tried it. I'll have to pop it in and give it a go. I love the 2600 version too.

This can't be the 1979 version. Have seen a video with a version that is much cruder. The (130)XE came out in around 1985.

You're thinking of the Atari 2600 version. This is indeed 1979 release for the 8-bit computer series.

And yes, the primitive version is for the Atari 2600 which was just a game console but with much more primitive hardware.
