@lanesteele240 You were probably looking at the roll over type box blades. I had one a few decades ago. You roll your box over to use the rippers. Rather than having to lower each ripper blade. Can be pretty easily done from the tractor by reaching back and releasing a lever, then driving forward (or reverse, can't remember)
United makes good stuff for the money. I have a 6.5' United disk harrow to go on the back of my '98 Massey Ferguson 231. KEEP THE VIDEOS COMING TED!!!
@2strokedetroit I have a 6' box blade that I use to move snow. I also use the loader some. I tilt the blade up by extending the top link to make sure I don't tear up my driveway. The blade fills up quick so on about 50' of driveway I pull it to the bottom, pick up the blade, and then go again. I then use the loader to clean up the pile. You can push backward on it but they aren't really made to push weight and if the snow is heavy you risk bending the frame, especially on a lighter blade.
Five stars. I just picked up a lightly used 48" box scraper (after seeing this video last Wednesday) Thanks a lot for the great instructional vid! I never would have known how to angle it to cut a ditch. I have a Cub Cadet 5264D subcompact with a F. E. L. 60" M. M. D. And PTO spreader. When I'm ready, I'll be getting a 40" phoeinix tiller from you guys! (1 bottom plow too)
When I purchased my tractor my box blade, bush hog, and large trailer came with it. Those items have proven to be very useful to me. I even learned something new on how to use the box blade. Thank you for your videos, and I have your web site saved since I need some farming implements for my tractor.
Hi great videos very imformative,I would like to purchase a box blade Due to watching your video) but here in the uk I can only get a 6ft model and my tractor width is 7ft will I have problems with the tractor being wider than the blade? or can I live with it?
Ive only found a few traders here in uk selling 4,5 & 6ft models but nothing bigger, they dont seem to be as popular as over with you, i'l keep looking it seems such a useful tool. thanks for the reply.
Can you be a little more specific about what exactly you are looking to see us do with it. We are getting ready to have a big video shooting day with a lot of attachments for "How to Maintain a Gravel Road" and we will have a box blade there.
Pretty much how to determine how low to set them for starters, how to set the top link of the 3 point to get your angle, stuff like that. I have a half acre lot at home, planning on ripping it all up with the tines/shredders and then leveling it out, and putting some slope where its needed.
Just looking for tips, and tricks of doing it successful yourself for somebody who doesn't know what they are doing, but likes to go play tractor out in the yard.
On our site, look at the United 784HD Heavy Duty Box Blade 84" or the United 896HD Heavy Duty Box Blade 96". You should have Category 1 hitch on that Massey and either of these will work well for you. You have a lot of weight with that tractor.
AWESOME! I recently purchased a JD 650, and I was looking into a box blade. I searched and came upon this video, thank you for taking the time to put this together showing the how too's as well as the in's and out's. I apperciate it, and now I feel pretty comfortable to attach my box blade when I get it, and go out in the yard and play, oops, I mean work. ;)
Glad we could help! You are going to love it! Did you buy from us? You are going to find so many different ways to use the box blade and get your money out of it.
Great job on your videos!! I really enjoy them and find them to be very informative. When are you going to do a video about tuning up a gravel road with a 3 Point Hitch Model LGB Utility Grader? Ive been using my box blade but think the LGB might be the way to go.
Your Welcome! My family has been in the implement business for a long time. My Dad took the time to teach me so much, and I wanted to try and pass on so much of his good knowledge so that it lives on.
Randy, you have no idea . . . very hot filming on this day! Come back tomorrow and watch me almost burn my hands on a set of compact pallet forks filmed on the same day. give me a call tomorrow (phone number is on the site) and let me know what you have in mind. Thanks for watching, and congrats on your new place and your new Kubota. Having a front end loader on your tractor really opens the door to being able to use even more attachments!
Hey ted, thanks for the "hot" hard work... just bought a place with 5 acres and a kubota bx1800. do you have the means to do a front end loader video? mine doesnt have one and i was thinking of it... just thought i would i ask...thanks again Randy
I always forget which way to do the top link if I want to cut down deep or if I want to smooth it out

Can the box blade be used to spread topdressing (say 1/4" thick) without damaging the turf (say tall fescue but to 3")?

Think you could do a video taking after this one, and show how to use the tines/shredders for dirt work?
