Sorry For late response, but no you cannot hear sound without computer...this is because its not an actual keyboard...its a MIDI controller just like this PCR-M50, so it got no speakers and no sounds inside of it, you use sounds from programs like : Fruityloops, Sonar, Cubase,Reason,Nuendo etc...
