Ven is Ven. Chronologically, he is one of the first Keyblade Wielders to appear in the story of Kingdom Hearts. Roxas is the Nobody of Sora, but looks like Ven, because at the end of Birth By Sleep, Ven's heart joins with Sora and his heart. When Sora became a heartless, he created his Nobody, Roxas, and he looks like Ven because instead of Sora'a heart, Ven's heart was used. It sounds confusing at first, but think about it . It makes sense if you really compare Ventus and Roxas.

When Ven lost his heart, Sora got it. It stayed in his body, using Sora to keep it alive until it could get back. Ten years later, when Sora lost his heart to save Kairi, Roxas was created. But because of Ven's heart, Roxas and Ven look alike

Which makes me wonder if Ven got his heart back. Maybe he created a nobody. Or maybe, he's running around, looking for Aqua and Terra. Or maybe, he's still asleep.

It could be grounds for a sequel. Who knows.

@LilTunechiNiga my thoughts on that from what I've seen so far of BBS is that due to the earlier scene I suppose ven git reborn into sora,sora became a heartless which in turn made his nobody Roxas which I suppose the incomplete half of ven's heart went into him and the other half that stood in sora's was that heart from earlier.then in KH2 Roxas went back into sora and blah blah blah which sora was then able to awaken from the pod introduced in CoM.

thats right, 10 years before kingdom hearts series (sora stil 6 years old) ventus is well half of soras heart, then yada and yada, his real half heart is evil and then he destroyed his awakening, you know the circle picture thing, he lost his heart, then turned evil attack aqua, make ventus sleep in chamber of awakening at cstle oblivion, then he seek the last fake hearts voice (which is none other then sora) and ask him that could he stay at his heart and ta da ventus is half of sora = roxas

Sora was five and Riku told him he can see others' hearts.

Sora tries and finds Vens heart. After talking anf learning neither heart is whole the combine hearts and become one. So, when Sora releases his heart to save Kairi it was actually just some of his heart and Ventus'.

That is why Roxas looks like Ventus instead of Sora, his other, unlike most Nobodies.

When Sora fell asleep, Ven's body awoke, however without his name, his past, and destiny. Xmenas gave him the name "Roxas" and the number 13. But the true fact is roxas is sora scrambled and a leftover X. Xion was created by mistake however with Ven and Sora's memories. After Xion died, he realized his real mission which was to destroy kingdom hearts. But DiZ wanted sora to destroy it not Roxas, so he sent Riku to stop him. After realizing Roxas was Ventus, He decided to let him live.

Roxas and Ven are the same person. Only Roxas doesnt have Ven's heart, but he has Ven's feelings. The only reason Sora is the keyblade master because he has Ven's heart which is actually Sora's heart that he gave to Ven before Sora was born. Roxas is really Ven, but ecerybody execpt the king tyinks that Roxas is Sora's nobody, but in truth, Sora is Ven's nobody but since Ven was killed, Ven's heart went to Sora body, making Sora a keyblade weilder and Ventus a nobody.
